Do custom widgets work when editing existing submissions?

If the Widget you are using is one that requires to enter some text or a calendar widget for example, then it will allow you to edit it:

Actually we are creating our own custom widget, it works for new form submissions, but when editing existing submissions, the widget can't fetch previous value of the field, so it appears empty even if user filled the field before.
We can't find any API on http://developers.jotform.com/widgets that allows us to get previous field value, is there anything that we missed?

What kind of widget is that? Is there any way we can see it from your form? This way, we can make our own test and check for the possible cause.
You can also contact our API Team with regards to this matter: http://api.jotform.com/docs/#contact.

You can test the widget here.

Sorry but it is not possible as of the moment since most widgets are loaded in an iframe container just like your custom widget. I'm not quite sure if this is possible but, let me pass this to our higher team so they can review and investigate this further. Though, I could not assure you of its implementation but rest assured, you will be informed here for any updates.
