Facebook Pixel Widget triggering events depending on source

If a Facebook Pixel Widget is added to a Jotform, do selected events (i.e Page View, Purchase etc.) get triggered Only when the form with the Widget is opened from a Facebook Campaign link or do they get triggered irrespective of the source of the link (e.g. link to form on website but not via Facebook)? Is there any control over this.

Trying to determine whether a form needs to be created specifically for Facebook related campaigns or a generic form can be designed with the Pixel Widget and only trigger the use of that pixel if the link is from Facebook and not from another source. 

The pixel widget essentially lets you track submissions, views, etc via the form that you can add to any website not particularly on Facebook.
