    Blank submission on required fields?

Asked by DroidNet on June 28, 2011 at 01:15 PM

I have a submission form that has two required fields: name and email.  I've received 25 submissions, but three of them are blank.  How is this possible with a required field?

It is possible to pass the required fields if the web page gives javascript error or the user disable javascripts. In the past, we checked for required fields both on the browser and on the server side. But since we now support complex conditional logic on forms, we only do these checks on the browser and by using JavaScript. So, there are no server side checks and it is possible to pass it by disabling JavaScript. Since most people would not do those things and people who do not want to enter data can simply enter junk, we do not see this as a problem. I hope this explains the reason.
