Is it possible to create a form where section 1 is completed and submitted and section 2 and so on is completed later?

The reason being, we currently send forms out and the submissions come into our crm (monday.com) very nicely. We now need to collect more data from our clients and need to send out another jot form. This means another form. The submission will come into monday.com again as a new entry. We have to manually copy the data over into the original monday.com entry.

If we sent out the same form again and say to or cleint, now complete section 2. Im confident monday.com will pull in the additional data to the sam entry again.

thanks so much for your help!!

    Hi there,

    Happy to help!

There are two options that you can do here:

    1) You could create an Approval Workflow: https://www.jotform.com/products/approvals/

    2) You could create a multi-step form utilizing URL Parameters that may not need approvals (I believe that this might be the best option for you). I'd be happy to create an example for you in regards to this, but wanted to see if the Approval Workflows would work first.

I look forward to your response!

    Hi Katherine,

I'll reply on behalf of my business partner Greg, thanks for your response so far.

Can we explore option 2? It would be great if you could give us an example? We can provide the 2 forms we would like to merge as well as a test if you like? As we are integrating with Monday.com we can then test it with you if that's okay?

Thanks again for you suggestions so far, how do we begin?

Can you please share the 2 forms that you would like to merge so that we can check if there are fields that cannot be populate through URL parameter?

    Guide:https://www.jotform.com/help/351-how-to-automatically-pass-form-data-to-another-form

    Sample form:https://form.jotform.com/211893220221040

On my sample form I have added the URL to the thank you page so that when the form is submitted it would redirect to the 2nd form.

    URL parameter used:

    https://form.jotform.com/211893274688066?name[first]={name:first}&name[last]={name:last}&email={email}

    Looking forward for your response.

    Hi, Richie, Katherine

    Here are the two forms;

    Investor - Criteria Form: https://eu.jotform.com/build/211873827922059

    Investor - Onboarding Form: https://form.jotform.com/210673820944053

We have a process in mind, wherupon we send the merged form out once and ask the client to fill in section 1, which is the first form, and then we ask them to fill in section 2 at a later time. This is so that the entire completed form can be input into Monday.com via an integration in one line/item. I'm very open to suggestions regarding a better way of doing this, but in essence, we need a 2 stage procedure that ends with a fully populated form that we can input into the CRM. Can you help us?

Thanks for your help and speed in replying.

May I know if you need all the data of form 1 and all the data of form 2 to be under the monday.com integration?

Splitting may not be possible as some fields in form 1 are not available on form 2.

I would suggest using 1 form and just hiding the fields of form 2.

Once the user edits the form, we hide the fields of form 1 and show the fields of form 2.

I will try to create a sample form and get back to you.

    I have created a sample form https://form.jotform.com/211943339720960.

Kindly try to submit the form and you will receive a link to continue with the same form.

Let us know if this fits your requirements.

    Hi Richie,

Thanks for creating the Sample. I have a few questions before i know if its what we need, but I'm not really sure where to start so ill just go for it, thanks for your patience.

I submitted the first form, then it automatically goes through to the second form. is this intended? It needs to break off at the first submission and just say thanks.

Then we need to be able to reissue the form, with the data previously entered saved and populated already OR issue a second form that will then combine with the first form once submitted successfully, and be saved in its entirety, both parts, in the submission section, so our CRM Monday.com can import it fully, both parts, from one submission. Is this possible?

thanks so much for your help so far. Its really valuable and its kind of sort of working so please keep helping us!

Hi again, i just saw this reply from you, sorry

"I would suggest using 1 form and just hiding the fields of form 2"

This sounds like a good option. Then can the user go back and fill in section 2 and all of the data will be saved in the form still? so at the end, they would have a fully complete form that we can upload? Or at the very least they just 'continue' to section 2 so that if they want to make changes to S1, they can while they fill in S2

    What do you think?

The user may go back to fill the 2nd section anytime using the edit link.

They should have a complete data after submitting the form.

Currently, with my sample form https://form.jotform.com/211943339720960 the user cannot edit the 1st section of the form but we can change the conditions if you would like to show the field and edit.

I would suggest you try my sample form https://form.jotform.com/211943339720960 to check it out.

Kindly add your email address to receive the edit link.

Let me know if this fits your requirements.

    Hi Richie,

I'm still struggling, so thanks for your patience.

when i half complete the form, and then submit, i can't see a way that I can go in at a later date and submit again? Our client need to be able to submit the same form multiple times, and that it saves their progress each time.

Either that or i can send them their stage one or stage 2 form link that is already pre-populated with the previous sections. What do i need to do?

    Combined Form - https://form.jotform.com/210673820944053

Here is the form I'm using. it has section 1 and section 2. can you help me find a way i can have our clients fill in S1, submit to me, and then at a later date fill in S2, but with all of the S1 data still present?

    All the best,

    Stuart

Hi Richie, sorry, i didnt see your previous reply.

I have seen/submitted your sample form. This is the function we need, where it emails a link to the user to continue the form, so yes, we have the core function now.

Please may you take the Combined Form - https://form.jotform.com/210673820944053

Then make it so that any amount of section 1 can be submitted and it will come to us, and will send them a link to continue as you have done on your form. The layout i have on the combined from link above is what i require in essence, so that sfine, and i can add to it as and when i need to hopefully.

Thanks for your help so far, feels like we are getting there!

    Thanks

    Stuart

    Hello,

This was a lot to try and get caught up on so I apologize if I don't understand something fully.

So you want to know how to send out the edit email when they fill in the first part?

To do that you will need to make an email notification.

    1626379948 60f096ace33fd Screenshot 10

Did you want the first section to be hidden and only the section shown?

To do that you will need to add the Get Form Page URL widget and set up some conditionals.

    https://www.jotform.com/widgets/get-form-page-url

Then you will make the conditionals to show and hide the form based on if the url has edit in it.
