captcha appears after sending when javascript=off

Asked by sulzenbacher on June 30, 2011 at 10:51 AM

I am not sure why, but when javascript is turned off in the browser (tried with Firefox & Chrome) my form asks for a captcha to be filled out after I hit the "send" button. I never put a "captcha" field into my form, and I am not asked to fill out a captcha after sending when javascript=on. Why is there a different behaviour?

We have a javascript code that checks if the sender of the form is a spam bot or not. When you disable javascripts, that code cannot be executed so we need to make sure a real human being is making the post.

Thank you very much for your reply. I understand that but unfortunately there is no translation into german possible in this (unwanted) captcha check and the captcha image is not loading properly (firefox&chrome, not sure if other browsers are affected too - does it use javascript to load?). And while the image is not loading you can hit the send button and the form is being submit although the captcha field is left blank.

Thanks for looking into this. I love jotform! :)
