Show edit/PDF url as a "here" link instead of full URL

Asked by jpatrick on January 25, 2014 at 11:42 AM

In the autoresponder e-mail, displaying the entire 80+ characters of the Edit and PDF links looks ugly and a tad unprofessional. Is there a way to display these as a link instead?  For example:

Click here to view or edit your order details.

    instead of

Click here http://submit.jotform.us/form.php?formID=40195271446151&sid=123456789012345&mode=edit to view or edit your order details.

Thanks for asking. Yes, there's a way. Initially, I was going to suggest that you remove the {edit_link} tag from its current location, select the word "here", click the Edit Link button

and insert the tag in the Link URL field

But it didn't work when I cloned your form. When I checked the notification in the form builder to see what could be wrong, I saw a slash preceding the tag. Then I remembered providing this workaround. In your case, enter

    http://submit.jotform.us/form.php?formID=40195271446151&sid={id}&mode=edit

in the Link URL box. Since the thread with the solution is pretty old, I tested the workaround to make sure it still works. It does.

If you need clarification on this, please let us know.

    Thanks

Incidentally, I would imagine that to do this for PDFs you would change the end of the link to mode=pdf but I haven't tested that as yet.
