Other comment box in checklist

Hi

I have a checklist questions where I want to add an "other" question (I have changed the name to additional suggestions/ideas) where individuals can type additional suggestions, but when I select the other option it is just adding a checkbox for other rather than a comment box. How do I have it be a comment box

Hi!

I have had a look and I think I can help. When you enabled the option for having the "other" option, you filled in the text box with "Additional suggestions/ideas", and this is why it is not possible to type anything in the field when the survey goes live.

To fix it, go back to card number 4, select the "Properties" gear, right above the little trashcan, and go to "Options". Leave the "Display Other Option" enabled, but clear out the text box next to it. This will allow you, or the people taking your survey, to enter the text as you originally wanted.

When I remove the text and it shows "other", it doesn't really show that you can write in it. My concern individuals will not know to write anything in it because it isn't clear that you should. Can I amend the term "other" to show "enter other".

Thanks for your further details.

Sure, you can customize the placeholder text as you prefer. The default placeholder is Other, as it's commonly used to specify other options also on printed form, and you should also keep in mind that, as shown on my screencast, when users select the Other option, they're required to fill out the text box to proceed.

You may change it with something different though, such as "Fill out this field with another product not in the list" for example.

How do I change it so that it is still a fillable section as there is no place to do it?
