Strange Bullets Appearing Beside ALL Forms and Buttons

Asked by Spencer  on January 29, 2014 at 12:23 AM

    Good Day,

It turns out that the strange bullets appearing have long plagued jotform users over time as many postings about it have been posted in the forums. I currently have two sites that have been hit by the issue. So far none of the suggestions have helped. Injecting the necessary CSS for every single button and form for example only removes the bullets and leaves the form broken and off-centered.Doesn't make much sense to have to go back and add extra CSS well after the fact when everything was working prior.

In another post, Jotform support stated that the problem was on their end and was fully resolved. That was sometime ago though now so maybe the same problem needs to be fixed on their end again. It maybe a CSS conflict somewheres but according to the post below there maybe some things Jotform can do on their end.... Any help would be really great. Thanks so much.

Can you please share to us the URL of your website where we can test the form.

I checked your website http://amansadfinancial.com/ but it is currently under maintenance and I could not find a JotForm form.

From your answer I was able to determine that the mysterious bullet
problem and formating issues are all relating to the use of the Secure
Form selection in Jotform. Switching the form back to regular fixes the
forms. Unfortunately I need to have a SSL version of the forms as they
all ask for sensitive info. The forms are also not showing up now if
    https:// is used.
What can we do about a secure version of the forms? I have tried
embeding a script, and embeding the source. Also tried the wordpress
version of the embed script. All had the bullets and formating issues.
Your answer allowed me to fix a number of other issues!
    Great Work! Thanks!

Hi Yes i did but for any form that I select the secure embed option in
jotform, the form or button appears with bullets.
    Here is the form:
    http://www.coinmortgage.com/full-mortgage-application/
    https://www.coinmortgage.com/full-mortgage-application/
And here are all of the embed scripts I tried. All cause the bullets to
appear amoung other formating issues. Injecting CSS to remove the
    bullets will will no help.

P.S - I tried just posting the source in different ways but that caused
    all sorts of other issues.

    Thank you for your response.

I'm afraid I am not able to reproduce the issue.

If you looked at your form before it is loaded to the website, the bullet's are not there, at least not from my end with chrome and Firefox:

    https://secure.jotform.com/40085341591956

    Here's what I see: https://shots.jotform.com/titus/Full%20Mortgage%20Application%20%20.png

If you are able to see the bullets on the form link above, then you have an issue with your browser.

Our data shows you are running on a Linux Version of Firefox 26, is this right?

    That  is quite strange.

Which browsers? Please check the versions on this link and respond back.

If possible, Please take a screenshot of what you see now and upload to your respose.

The first screenshot does not clarify the nature of the error - Everything looks so different when we visit your website.

Do you see the error in windows?

Thank you for sticking through this as we seek a resolution.

    Hello Spencer,

I'm suspecting that your ISP is having some issues with accessing some domains used by JotForm. Can you try visiting this URL if you're able to view the CSS code:

    Please do keep us posted.

    Good Morning,
I see the bullet and formating issues in all browsers on both Linux
and Windows. I also see the issue on iphone. I do not have any issues or
css conflicts on the websites themselves as the problem is on the
jotform side. The problem can be seen on the jotform side by going to
embed and selecting preview from within the embed selection area.
This issue is only a problem when the Secure function is selected
within the Embed selection box. Unfortunately I need both buttons and
forms secure as sensitive user data is being collected and SSL is being
used ususally. I have had to put all of the buttons back to unsecured
mode until we figure this issue out. Does this give you enough to go on?
Please let me know if there is any other info you need from my end.

Can you access this file when you click on it? It should show a lot of code, but just let us know if you can open it:

Thank you for letting us know, Spencer.

As I understand, the link to the CSS file I gave you is not accessible on your end.  This means that your internet service provider may seem to have accessing issues going to the domain name.  This is the reason why you're seeing bullets on your end while we could not replicate the issue on our end.

If you are quite in a hurry to view the form properly, and you can't wait for your ISP to resolve the problem, you can download the full source code of your form (with the CSS files) by doing the following:

    1. Click on "Setup & Embed" tab on the form builder

    2. Click on "Embed Form" from the top toolbar

    3. Click on "Source" from the Embed Form Wizard

    4. Click the link below the text area where your source code contents is.  This will prompt a download with the proper CSS and JS files.  You can then copy the code with you being able to properly customize the link to the JS and CSS files.

If you need further assistance on this matter, please do let us know.

    Thanks.
