    Using 'Refer a friend' form

    Hi there,


    I see there is a Tell a Friend template.  It does almost everything that I need it to do but I wanted to know if a few tweaks are possible.

    The notification email is just fine.  That will notify me of someone using the form and it will contain the form details.  Great.


    The auto responder is where I'm stumbling a bit.  The form that I will be creating will collect contact information for both the person doing the referring and the person they are referring someone to.  I wanted to see if I could get the Sender emial and name to be the Referrer's information rather than Jotform defaults or my account details.  I would imagine that the email woudl be opened more often if the recipient recognizes the sender's email address and name.

    Any ideas would be great.

    My form isn't published yet but I'm working off of the Tell a friend simple template that you have in your Jotform library.

    Thank you for your inquiry, Tanya.

    Unfortunately, it's not possible to set the sender email of either the email notifications or email autoresponder as the person filling up the form and set the email to the recipient to the friend's email field. This is for adhering to email policies on the internet to prevent emails from being marked as spam.

    The safest solution that I could think of is add the full name of the form user on the subject line on your autoresponder email.

    Thanks.  I figured that there were some rules/regs in place that did not allow for that.

    I am intrigued about the option to have the full name of the form user to be added to the subject line of the email.  Can I customize the message to be something like>

    "Name here is recommending XYZ company to you"

    If that's the case that might work very well.  How do I get the full name to appear in the subject line?

    This is quite easy with us. You will need to open your Auto Responder template:

    Then, you will be able to edit the subject. It is possible to use form field {tags} in this case, you can simply add the 'From' field tag to your custom subject:
