Hidden Fields not visible in edit link.

    Hi Jotform,

my colleague george@kinfine.com created an account.

When he clicks on the edit link...he's unable to see the hidden tracking and carrier fields.

Can you help us troubleshoot. He's using a chrome browser and the only fields visible are the fields that an external user would see.

The goal of the approval workflow is to have him input carrier & tracking fields after reviewing the form, and then approve.

    Thanks,

(these fields are not meant to be visible to the initial user at first)

I have cloned and tested your form.

I have switched off the following option in the advanced tab.

As you can see, I can see the tracking and carrier fields in my edit link:

Please test it on different browsers and even different wifi-networks.

Let us know if the issue still persists.

    Thank you.

    Hi there,

    Ok...

I tried disabling this on my end. My colleague is still unable to view the hidden fields.

    george@kinfine.com....

When I swap my email delia@homepop.com & make myself as the approval however, I can see them.

With geroge@kinfin.com's machine, we're using Google Chrome....and we also cleared his cache.

I tried testing the {edit link} in incognito mode on my own machine however...I was able to replicate my colleague's issue. Please note that my colleague is already signed into his own account when he clicks on that link.

It seems as if Jotform is unable to recognize his account as part of our own portal. Does this have anything to do with us using free accounts? Please continue helping us troubleshoot.

Could you send us the link to his edit page for us to test please?

Please also add other users with this domain name, kinfin.com, as the approver to see how it goes.

If it doesn't work, then you may further test it with other domain names, such as users from homepop.com as the approver.

Let us know how it goes.

    Thanks.

I have checked his mail log and here is his edit link:

    1628297032 610dd7480c36f Screenshot 10

I can still see the tracking and carrier fields:

    1628297092 610dd784120a0 Screenshot 21

, which implies that you don't need to swap it for your email address before you can see them.

This is most likely related to his browser, his wifi network and/or his computer.

Please ask George to test it on a different computer, thanks.

Hi Yua, in response to your question:

    ....

Please also add other users with this domain name, kinfin.com, as the approver to see how it goes.

I don't know how to do this. Please help.

If it doesn't work, then you may further test it with other domain names, such as users from homepop.com as the approver.

I won't be able to do this. I'm the first one to have the @homepop.com addy.

Let us know how it goes.

    Not good.

Btw, I tested with another account on another machine Ricky@kinfine.com....and the edit link is still not making the tracking and carrier fields visible. I can now confidently say that its not a machine or browser error. Please help...

Do we need to pay for enterprise for the remainder of my team to view the hidden fields? Please let us know.

Please allow me some time to investigate.

These 2 fields are set to 'hidden':

    1628645089 611326e1713fd Screenshot 10

but without any conditional-logic to unhide them:

    1628645156 61132724b4ce0 Screenshot 21

You have also set 'allow editing' to false:

Please explain why you are using this widget:

    1628645403 6113281bb203b Screenshot 43

Those 2 fields are not visible in the form link: https://form.jotform.com/212135740778155

but they are visible in the edit url: https://www.jotform.com/edit/5040909188123526614

Please ask George to check which url he is using.

    Thank you.

    Thanks for that!

-yes, confirming two fields are hidden

-got it. I only want them visible under the edit url.

-I can't see a Allow Submission Editing option on my form, below is my view (1st screenshot)

-GetURL - unsure; let me delete that

-George is using the : {edit_Link} in the Approval Request Email I've setup for the Parts Request Form Approval workflow....How can I get the email to display the url: https://www.jotform.com/edit/504090909188123526614 1628712911 61142fcfae0c3 Screenshot 10

I have created a demo for you to convey the basic concepts.

    https://form.jotform.com/212227702404040

The Get form URL widget in your form was there for a reason but I think the person who placed it there forgot to implement the next step or don't understand how it works.

As you can see from my demo that the hidden field can only be visible when you click on the 'edit link'.

I am using conditional-logic to unhide the hidden field if 'edit' is detected in the URL.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Excellent!!! It was a conditions issue and re-added the Get URL form. Works now!!

That's more than I could ask for (at the moment) :D

    Thanks Yua!
