Adding fields breaks my Google sheet script

Asked by edswartz on February 01, 2014 at 09:59 PM

Whenever I add fields in my jotForm it breaks the Google AppScript I have tied to my Google sheet. The issue is that I have named the columns in the Google sheet with specific range names. For example, column A is a range called "client" and Column B is a range called "contactEmail". If I go back and add a field on JotForm between the client name and the client email called "Contact Name", when I go to back to the Google sheet the named ranges for A remain "client", however, the range for "contactEmai"l remains column B which is now being populated by the data from the contactName field and the data from JotForm for email addresses is now populating column C. As I type this I think this is a problem I need to solve on the Google Sheets side, but curious if you have suggestions or advice.

    Thank you,

    Hi Ed,

Doing it manually might break the integration so we'd recommend re-integrating your form so it creates a brand new spreadsheet. You can then customize the google spreadsheet afterwards.

To re-integrate your form, simply remove the existing google spreadsheet integration and reconnect.

If the problem still persists after that, let us know here so we can further assist you.

    Thanks!
