    Translation: Portuguese to English translation not saving

    Hello friends at JotForm,

    I know this is not a new problem around here but I haven´t found a proper answer for it.

    So, my issue is that my form just doesn´t hold the tanslations I make.

    I make the translations (Portuguese to English), I save them evey time and as soon as I´m out of the translation pop-up they´re gone!

    If I go back to the translation pop-up I just have to do it all over again and that´s just not good.

     

    Any ideas why this happens?

    Hi Leandro,

    Can you please confirm if you used the Revision History feature to revert to a previous version of the form? 

    Does your form have already an existing translations, then you reverted to previous version that supposed to still have the translation -- but when you revert, the translation are gone.

    If you did, try not to revert first to previous revision.. try applying again your translations to the form, save and then test the form. See if the translations stick.

    thank you very much  for your reply and support.

    No, no "revision history feature" here. Saw the email about it, haven´t tried it yet.

     

    The form had no previous translations.

    I had this problem before with other form - http://www.jotformeu.com/voicebank/voice_talent.

    I think I changed browser and somehow it worked (the translation stuck). Same gimmick didn´t work this time.

    Thank you for your response.

    The revision History feature helps you see what you changed on the form - It can help you verify whether the changes you made were delivered to your form.

    In any case, we'd like to assist further: 

    1. Which is the form on which the translation do not stick?

    2. Which field do you want to translate?

    3. What is the translation text?

    We'd like to try this from our end on a copy of your form to see what the exact problem is.

    Hello again Jonathan,

    I hear you and I saw what you did.

    Thing is, I went to my account in order to continue the form translation and what you did was no longer there.

    I made no changes whatsoever and I let the autosave do the rest.

    If you check the form now, you´ll see that what you did is no longer there.

     

    And that, my friend, is the problem.

    Thanks, I was able to reproduce the problem while the form builder is on Portuguese language. I have now escalated this problem to our developers so they could investigate this further and get back to you as soon as they can.

    Hi!

    I'd like to follow up on that matter.
    I run into the same problem with my german form builder. Everytime I type in translations (to english) and leave the translation dialog everything is gone after reopening it.

    This does not happen when using the english form builder.


    The german form builder just don't remembers the previous translations...

    Please fix that, I don't want to translate my all fields of my form every time again..

    No revision history option enabled.

    Hello-

    I just retested it and it seems to work as expected.

    - Set JotForm to use Portuguese.

    - Added English as another language and provided translations.

    - Saved form, and submitted it.

    It worked as expected for me. I believe this was fixed in some recent updates. Please let us know if you still encounter an issue.
