Feature Request: Capability to change/edit the name of the uploaded filesAsked by clfile on February 05, 2014 at 10:18 AM
I like that I am able to manage some of the integration with, say, Dropbox. For example, I can modify the folder name with appropriate fields from the submission form. However, I'd like to see in the future a way to extend this to the file itself. I'm using this as a means for my students to upload their assignments. However, I'd like them to be titled based upon username, id, assignment number, or something similar. I already have the students inputting these parameters to modify the folder, it would be great to see this extended to modify the file name as well.
So, basically what you need is to have the capability to change/edit the name of the uploaded files according to a field of your form just as the way you can give to the folder created in Dropbox a name according to the fields on your form like the "Full Name, Email, etc.". Is that correct?
Ok, I have forwarded your request to our development team so that they can consider the implementation of this function. We cannot promise you anything about this implementation, but we will update you via this thread in case this is added to our features.
Yes, this is correct. I suppose somebody out there would prefer greater control, e.g., user-defined parameters, etc. However, I would just like to see an extension of the already available integration of folder labeling towards that of file labeling.
Great! That's all I ask. That's why it's a Feature Request... not a demand. :)
Thanks for your very quick reponse!
