    How redirection to paypal opens in a new tab?

    Asked by averis on February 05, 2014 at 08:19 PM

    I have developed a conference registration form and have it set to integrate with paypal for credit card payment only. I would like to have the redirect to paypal page open as a new tab on the browser so the registrant doesn't leave my website. How do I do this?

    Also, I have the form set that a thank you appears when they register to pay by check, but how do they get a thank you after submitting the form if they go to paypal? Thanks so much.

    This possible by adding target = "_blank" on the form tag line.

    Of course this will require using your form's source code embed.

    <form target = "_blank" class="jotform-form" action="http://submit.jotformpro.com/submit/123456789/" method="post" name="form_31045736566962" id="123456789" accept-charset="utf-8">

    Also, can they receive a thank you if they submit the form and then it goes to paypal for payment?

    I am not sure what you meant by this. If you were referring to the Thank You page after successfully completing the payment in Paypal screen, you can just assign acustom URL Thank You page in the form's Thank You page.

    Hope this help. Inform us if you need  further assistance.

    Thanks Jonathan. It worked great in terms of opening a new web tab after redirecting to paypal. Now my question is: I have set up a custom thank you that folks will receive on my website after registering using the custom url. When they click, pay by check, and submit the form, the thank you appears. No problem.

    When they pay by credit card and a new browser opens to take them to paypal, will they see a thank you after paying on paypal? not sure how to set this part up. Since I can't make a dummy sale, I am not sure what they will see after paying on paypal. Will they get redirected to a thank you page from paypal?

    To check what I can, I went ahead and filled out the form as if I was paying by credit card and clicked register. A new tab opened and brought me to paypal. When I went back to the original registration page on my webiste, the register button now shows "please wait" so I am wondering if it is waiting for the payment to go through? Would the registratio page then redirect to my thank you page? Since I can't make a payment to paypal, not sure what will happen. So are you able to answer this? If that is the case, that it will show the thank you on my webpage after the payment is made, it is great. If not, please advise.

    Thanks so much for your help.

    When they pay by credit card and a new browser opens to take them to paypal, will they see a thank you after paying on paypal? Your user will see something like this when after they made a payment through paypal. This is a sample donation that I did before.

    Will they get redirected to a thank you page from paypal? Yes they will be redirected to paypal's thank you page.

    About the "Please Wait" message I believe once the form is submitted that disalbes the submit button since in actual submission if you don't use the target = "_blank" the form will be redirected to paypal then once a user successfully made a payment they will just receive a thank you message from paypal.

    The sample image that I've attached does not apply with a Custom URL so I haven't really tested that part whether the form will be redirected to your thank you page once a successful payment is made.
