Image Picker Widget - Feature Request

Asked by petugg on February 07, 2014 at 07:21 AM

#1 It would be very useful to add sub-labels to the images. Especially when selecting colours, as in my example, it is important to be able to show names of the colors.

#2  Can conditions be applied to this widget?

    Hello,

    Thank you for the request.

    1. Its certainly a good idea. I will forward the request to our developers.

    2. You can actuallly apply conditional rules to the Image picker field - what kind of action are you looking for?

    Thanks again.

    Thanks Titus,

    1. Is there a 'general' time frame for implementation of accepted requests?

    2. I'd like to use the SHOW function for another field if a certain image is selected. But I can't figure out what to enter in the "Is Equal To" field.

    3. Another issue I noticed is that the selected images are not shown in the PDF and the confirmation e-mail. Instead they are listed in plain text like this: [{"file":"0YxVrsm.png"},{"file":"SYLnvVB.png"}].

Hey Peter, On behalf of Titus you are very welcome and to answer your questions...

    (1) Is there a 'general' time frame for implementation of accepted requests?

No, We are not able to provide a timeframe on these sorts of things involving requests. As far as I know we try our best to get things done in a timely manner and these types of things are primarily based on the demand of the feature and also how useful they would really be.

We have well over a million users and only a handful of us along with the fact that our devs have previous priorities that they must complete before moving on so it may be a little bit of time before they are able to look your thread over. But if implemented or if there are any updates then you would be notified at a later date in the same thread.

    (2) I'd like to use the SHOW function for another field if a certain image is selected. But I can't figure out what to enter in the "Is Equal To" field.

In the conditional logic wizard for the field you would normally set it up as IF Images To Choose Field IS EQUAL TO Image A. Then SHOW Field Such-and-Such, Etc,. If you are not seeing it in the list then there's a chance the Conditons might not yet allow that field with what you are doing or perhaps you are not configuring it correctly.

Since you've opened up a thread about a feature request with this involving an improvement to the Image Picker. My advice at this point if you still need help with that would be for you to please open up New Thread as a separate issue involving the Conditions for this and we'll gladly help you.

    (3)  Another issue I noticed is that the selected images are not shown in the PDF and the confirmation e-mail. Instead they are listed in plain text like this: [{"file":"0YxVrsm.png"},{"file":"SYLnvVB.png"}].

This sounds like a third issue so I would advise the same thing with another ticket as well. We prefer and ask that you please keep issues or questions separate unless it is directly related or generalized inquiry type questions about our platform in example. By doing so this helps us to focus on a single problem or issue that needs help where as multiples in the same thread may cause further confusion and problems if it is unrelated although known.

I think you have amazing support - your response times are great, you seem to understand that people need help when they are working on something and not days later. I know companies where you pay for support and still have to chase them with a torch light before you even know they are alive...

    I'll post new threads.

Thank You very kindly for your comments, very much appreciated. We try our best to ensure that doesn't happen. And yes I know exactly what you mean by that as I've had a similar personal experience myself with that for purchases I've made with companies before so I share your concern. :)

We appreciate your cooperation with the new threads. You may link them here for reference if you wish though it's not necessary.

Sorry, but I have to reopen this thread. It is really great to have the labels underneath, but can you please have the labels centered and use Helvetica. For God's sake, ALWAYS use Helvetica! Please, please please... ;-)

Or even better, make it customizable with CSS.

Hi there, are there any solutions for conditional statements on the Image Picker widget? Trying to make this work for a website design that is in black and white, and when selected, shows the color options.

    Thanks.

You've asked a follow-up question to a resolved thread so I have moved your question over here as a new topic.
