I am attempting to Pre populate my form fields but no luck.Asked by coryb on February 10, 2014 at 11:16 AM
I am attempting to prepopulate the "Business Plan ID" Feild and the "Business Plan Name" Feild. I have viewed this article: http://www.jotform.com/help/71-Prepopulating-the-fields-to-your-JotForm-via-URL-parameters
but I guess I'm still doing something worng. the URL should look like this: http://form.jotform.us/form/40235874587161?businessplan=1234567&businessplan39=Test but the feilds don't seem to populate. please help.
There are different ways to populate the form values on your form. Currently it looks like your parameter is trying to gather data that isn't there via your test so that's why the above parameter isn't working correctly since it's not pulling data from an appropriate form source.
Are you trying to gather the populated data from a different form or send it or have it pre-populated into fields further down your form on the same form? Can you please explain more in detail about what you are trying to populate and how you want this done so we can help you more with this.
What's actually happening is Salesforce is going to concatenate the link in a text feild based in the Record's ID so when you click the link it should open up this form and pre populate those fileds. Before I even got to test that out I wanted to test it out myself by entering some random information but neither of the feilds will populate this form.
You got it wrong. The prepopulated URL should be:
Try using this simple JotForm-certified app to make things easier for you:
Note: click the shortened URL to get your prepopulated form URL
Great App... I'll be sure to use that in the future. Something is still off though the numbers "1234567" should populate the Field Business Plan ID instead it doesn't show up anywhere.
Sorry, I spoke too soon.
There seems to be a bug with two fields having the same first two words as their labels. On your form, Business Plan Name and Business Plan ID seem to overlap each other when it comes to prepopulation.
I have submitted a report ticket to have this rectified.
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
In the meantime, you may try setting a default value for a field, but that would apply to the form no matter which url is used.
