    What is " Free" in Payment items/products

    Asked by ProfitStrategist on February 10, 2014 at 07:08 PM

    I edited a form I have used before.  One of the selections a person can make is Free.  I entered a zero in the price box for PayPal.  When I Save Product, the description is there, but just after where a price would be is "&nbspFree" .  What is this?  I've never seen the &nbsp before.  How can I get rid of it?  Thank you.

    Hi,

    To make an item Free in the payment tools(paypal, purchase order), just make its Price equals zero(0.00).

    This item will the appear as Free item only, and will not have Price amount.

    You can use the word Free into the item price.

    Hope this answers your question. Please inform us if you need further assistance.

    Thanks.

    I cannot leave the price blank.  No, I cannot enter "Free".  I just get a pop up that says I can only enter a number.  I've entered 0 and I've tried 0.00.  Question remains:  What is "&nbsp" and how to I get rid of it?

    I apologize, I did not understand your question initially.

    To remove the word Free for the 0.00 priced items you can inject CSS code like this

    #input_26_1002_price{

    visibility:hdden;

    }

    in your form.

    Thanks for your speedy reply.  I obviously am not making myself clear.  I will try again.

    1.  What is "&nbsp"?  Is it showing up before the word "Free".

    2.  How do I get rid of the "&nbsp"?

    That's it.  My two questions.

    Background.  I have several forms that include the choice to buy items that include an item or service that is Free. In ALL of these forms the description is followed by the price.  I want this - I never ment to imply I wanted to get rid of this.  In the case of a free item, all I had to do is assign 0 or 0.00 to the price and the item description was followed by "Free".  Perfect.  Now, with the subject form, a "&nbsp" is showing up before the word "Free".  Again, what is "&nbsp" and how do I get rid of it?  I want to keep the price after each item and I want to keep "Free" after each item that is free.  This is a new circumstance as it does not impact any other of my forms.

    &nbsp is a HTML code that is use to represent a blank space. More Information here.

    2.  How do I get rid of the "&nbsp"?

    I'm not quite too sure if you had a blank space causing this before, but I am not able to see the &nbsp anywhere on your form or on the copy of your forn I clone to my test account.

    My tests on the form:

    Thanks very much for answering my question.  I went back in and re-entered the item, then put in 0 for the price and now the &nbsp is gone.   Thanks again - I truly apprectiate your help.
