    Captcha not working from China

    Hello,

     

    Please note that the captcha is not working when connecting from China (Thanks to the great firewall). Any idea on how to fix this?Or could you guys have a lok at it?

    Hi,

    Your captcha appears to be fine on my end.

    I tried using public proxy base from china server, and it's working just fine. Can you suggest them to use different browsers? Perhaps clearing their browsers cache might be of help. Were you using different embed codes before?

    Hi,

    When connecting with a Chinese IP address (from China) the Captcha does not appear (this is not a new information, it has been like this for ages). It only works OK when I use a VPN.

     

    When connecting from China the captcha seems to load endlessly.

     

    Any chance you have a VPN with China server (Astrill or other?)

    Unfortunately, I do not have VPN tunnel to further investigate this. I also do not see similar reports from different users who are probably on the same location.

    Would you mind checking the stand alone form if it does the same? http://www.jotform.us/form/21250823644145?. This works totally fine on my end as well as the embedded form. I have no clue as to how that issue occurs specifically on your end right now since the system is all operational. (CDN Provider) http://status.maxcdn.com. Do you have any other internet connections to check? Please try out any possibilities that might help. You can also try to clear your DNS cache, see if that makes any difference.

    Hi,

     

    I have done some other checks but I am 200% positive it is linked with China Great Firewall (would not be the only thing blocked). The only question / interrogation is why does it work OK for the rest of the form and only not this part...

     

    Anyway if one of you is once in China (or get a VPN) I am sure you'll be able to reproduce the issue.

     

    Or maybe there are other fols connected from China that could confirm they have the same issue.

    Its pretty hard for us to reproduce the issue in your exact parameters,

    Allow us to narrow the cause down (this test requires you to be located in China, or at least the location where you are not able to load the captcha):

    1. Are you able to load the following file when you click it from china? https://www.jotform.com/server.php?action=getCaptchaImg&code=dd09ebda34362558ee46e72238e40038

    2. How about this file? http://cdn.jotfor.ms/static/jotform.js?3.2.570

    Don't worry if either link loads a bunch of code on a page or a captcha image - its supposed to.

    We are trying to establish whether our CDN can deliver content to where you are. Upon confirmation, we will forward the issue to our developers to take a closer look.

    The 1st link does not work with my China IP unless I use a VPN (I have tried the 2 options, i.e. with and without).

     

    The 2nd link loads plenty of code even without VPN, i.e. normally working from china mainland:

    So may I say that the capcha field shows up, but does not load the image?

    Do you have actual contacts in China who can test this as well?

    While I trust your response - VPN's tunnels have known issues with using our forms.

    Hi,

     

    Form from website: the area where the captcha should be displayed indicates (after laoding for 1 min +) "Captcha - Relaod if it's not displayed"

     

    1st Link you provided: Does not open any page (the captcha area is not even displaying)

     

    Some friends of mine have tested as well (From / outside China) with same results

    It seems my colleague's first URL isn't found when I checked it here. Can you try this URL? https://www.jotform.com/server.php?action=getCaptchaImg&code=d98238778c338bcf8d41060bb6f22b98. Let us know if this doesn't display the captcha image on your end.

    Can you try to embed the form on your page using it's full source code? I'm not sure, but I think it might help if the source code is hosted within your server. Please give this a try and let us know here if this doesn't make any difference.
