My form has a calculated field in which I build the url string for the thankyou page. It is filled using the contents of some fields. On Firefox and IE11 the calculated fields updates as required. On IE 8 the field remains empty.
Is there a way around this?
Ok, I've found my own work around (actually an improvement). I'm building the url string within the option for setting the thankyou URL, instead of doing it in a calculated field. Having tried the calculated field it was easy to get the field names, and I then copied those into the url string.

One thing I can add about this though, some issue were most likely to happen when using obsolete browser versions.
JotForm forms were more developed using newer browser technology.
Usually, upgrading the browser or using newer version will resolve issues and anomally that happens when using an older browser version.

Thanks. Yes I realise that IE8 is well outdated. But visitors to our website are likely to elderly and/or disabled in some way. Many of them will have old and trusted computers running Windows XP. Therefore if they use IE they are stuck at version 8. Of course they could update to a later version of Windows or swap to another browser. But maybe they cannot afford to get newer hardware and maybe they are not prepared to change to software that behaves and looks different from what they are used to. So it is important that my forms work on IE8.
By the way my main computer still runs XP, which is why happen to have IE8 around. I normally use Firefox, but I test that my stuff works on IE8 as well and in IE 11 on another computer.
I understand. If the user would still be using WinXP, then, it would only allow the OS to use IE8 as the highest version of IE browser.
Just to clarify, there should be no consistent issue in still using IE8 browser with JotForm. We do still have users that uses this OS and browser.
And indeed there are minimal varying reported issue that was caused by using the IE8 browser. But since the only consistent indicator that the issue was happening was the browser version used, we usually recommend an upgraded browser to immediately resolved any issue.
If they are using WinXP which will prevent them using IE9 or higher, please recommend other browser instead like Chrome or Firefox. These browsers can work on WinXP OS up to its latest version.
It is good then that you are not able to encounter similar issue on your OS and browser combination. It sometimes depends also on how the settings of the IE browser is setup.
