Hi, today I opened up my form in edit mode but didn't change a thing.... now it says on the "my forms" list that my form was modified. Who modified my form if I didn't modify anything? Shouldn't it just say "form opened up in edit mode but no changes made"?

If you opened the form in Edit mode in the form builder, it usually auto-save immediately. Thus it will register the "modified" status.
When you go to your My Forms page http://www.jotform.com/myforms/ you will see the modified status of the form as "Modified By" You.
Opening the form in preview mode however, will not register any modify status.
This is the normal behaviour of the form builder.
Hope this clarifies the matter. Please inform us if you found issue on this.

Thanks for the clarification..... It should only save if there was a change. Nitpicking I know..... but the date modified isn't even helpful if all it really means is "opened up for a few seconds in edit mode."

You have a valid point that unless and until there is a modification on form, the form should not be saved or modified status should not be changed.
As my colleague have already mentioned that we do have "Auto save" feature which keeps saving the form and the changes can be tracked in the form's revision history. This is the current default behavior of our form builder.
If you want we can send a request to our back end team to look into your suggestion. Do get back to us and we will do the needful.

I think the auto save should only happen after a comparison of the current form is done.... if the comparison comes out identical then no auto save should happen.
I just ran into this issue again today... it confuses things when editing and troubleshooting forms to have this oddity occurring.

The auto save process will happen on different condition.
I think it will be best reviewing this user guide also for better understanding of the save process that is happening on the form builder.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. I initially thought the issue was resolve when I responded on your previous message.
Can you please confirm that the issue remains?
If my understanding is correct, are you saying that your form was modified/updated when you did not even do it yourself?
You can also check in your account's history page for logged activities that happens on your forms.
Please inform us if issue remains.
