Also, I have set a discount coupon of $3, but instead of taking the discount off of the product, I'd like the discount to be applied to the Total.
Currently, if I choose a quantity above 1 and add the discount code of "1free", it makes the total $0. This is not how it should be.
If you choose a quantity of 2, your total will be $6. If you add the coupon code, then your total should be $3, not $0.
How can I fix this?

If you want to apply the coupon discount to the Total, you should check the "All" option instead for the Discounter Products.
Example:
Make sure to click on SAVE button after to save the changes.
Please let us know if this did not work.

Hi,
I tried this several times and it still didn't work. I even deleted the coupon and created a new one with your instructions.
It's still making the Total $0.
Any other suggestions?

Hi kickstock,
It is not possible to create 1 unit for a free offer very easily with the current shop.

This topic mentions that there could be some trick to use payment calculation field for pricing to count always the price of one product out from the price with a separate form calculator field.

I don't understand why this isn't simple.
All I need to do is apply a discount to the final Total.
This should be quite easy.
There are no other solutions?

As I mention the easiest way to do this is by using a form calculator. Roneet has written a thread and example of how it can be done here: https://www.jotform.com/answers/1604837-how-to-setup-discounts-for-total-sale
I am afraid though that this method is not compatible with the payment/e-commerce module, so the only good option left is to create a feature request to our developer team.
