Can i create a step by step choice guide to link to our products?

Asked by neilkerry on February 17, 2014 at 11:58 AM

Can jotform be used to create a step by step selection form that will then allow based on the choices to link to somwehre specific?

I would like my customer to be able to answer questions presented to them, depending on their answer will take them to a specific result page where another question will be asked - the final result would then be able to link to the relevant product based on their selections - this can be simple html linking and does not have to be database driven. All thsi keeping them on the same page - thsi would need to be embeded into a joomla CMS page.

A sample of questiosn and answers we would use (to help you understand)

    Step 1 - Choose from: A4 - A5 - A6

Step 2 - Choose From: Full Colour - Mono

Step 3 - Choose Amount of Pages From - 8,12,16,20,24,28,32,36,40,44,48,52,56

(this final option would be something like a drop down menu of the page choices, the user would then be able to click 'find' or submit which in turn wouldlink to somewhere - or even by selecting the relevant drop down would then jump?)

Do you have anything made already similar as a start point?

Is there any limitations you can think of ?

We have done a pages only version of something similar on another website - this is a sample of how we want our customers to be directed to a specific product: https://www.colourncr.com/ncr-printing-step3.html

Ilook forward to hearing from you, Cheers.

    Neil.

You can use conditional logics to achieve this result.

In this test form I created, the user selects the size, and color field appears. And only after selecting this field user can see the number of pages:

    http://form.jotformpro.com/form/40475139335960?

You can clone this form to see more in detail how this works.

In this case it is in the same page but it can be done in different pages if necessary.

Kindly let us know if you need further assistance.

    HI,
Thank you for your quick response – looks good.
How would I get each option chosen to hyperlink to a different web page for instance? Is this possible or will this only work as a mailing form?
If you were to choose A4>COLOUR>8pages – could this then link to that actual product?
And the same if A4>COLOUR>12pages was chosen this would then go somewhere different…
Can you let me know as soon as you can. I have cloned the form and had a look but don’t see how I can make the link to any pages.
Many Many thanks for looking so far!

    Hi Again,
I think I have worked this out as the option for sending to a different thank you page – is this correct and the best way?
I have created a couple of conditions that if matched will throw the user to the specific webpage.
Can you confirm my logic of this is correct?

At the moment everytime I do this I get a form submission – is there a way to turn off the form submissions?
    Thanks again, brilliant so far!

    Hi,

I think I have worked this out as the option for sending to a different thank you page – is this correct and the best way?

Yes it is the correct method. Using condition logic you can submit the form to different web pages depending on the choices/answers on the form.

    Review this guide also -Smart-Forms-Using-Conditional-Logic

What you need to use was the 4th option in the condition wizard

At the moment everytime I do this I get a form submission – is there a way to turn off the form submissions?

You get the form submissions because the form needs to be submitted first before it can redirect to the destination website URL.

Do you only need link of the redirect web page instead? If it is, then, you can just add a hyperlink text in your form that the form user can click and it should open the web page in the browsers.

You can use the TEXT field found in Form Tools to add a hypertext link.

Hope this help. Inform us if you need further assistance.

    Thanks!
