What is the reason of the blank area under picture when sharing post to facebook?

Asked by siriuslux on February 20, 2014 at 08:46 PM

Please look at the screenshot, you can see that under the picture there is only titale of the form and secured link. What is the problem? Why it is not  filled with text from the form? How can I mark exact text i want to appear under the picture?

    Thanks.

    Hello siriuslux,

I am not sure which embed method you have used to embed your form in facebook.

It seems that you have directly shared the form URL in a facebbok post. Please check the following guide which should help you embed your form in facebook page:

    http://www.jotform.com/help/22-Adding-Form-to-Facebook

Do follow the steps mentioned in the above guide and get back to us if you have any questions.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

I did all like it have to be (I am experienced with static html) and my form is well implemented in static html, as you can see  from the link> https://www.facebook.com/MedievalMusic/app_190322544333196 - but that is not an issue.

The problem is when want I to  put the the link from your server https://secure.jotformpro.com/siriuslux/Medieval_Music_Exibition into to my FB page wall status. I put the link, and I was able to change(upload) a new photo instead randomly taken from Jotform server ( still trying to understand what is the rule and what picture will be embed on the wall when i put direct link)

Than, I was able to put a proper photo which gain the link to my form based at your server.

!! but under the photo is only  Concert in the Egg and secure.jotformpro.com, without embedding any of my text from the form.!!

The most strange is that text was embedding before under the photo but i did not change anything from the static HTML  code or from any setup tool in the jotform.

I will be very happy if you can assist me.

    Thanks

    Sirius Lux

Unless my colleagues have any additional insight into this. I do believe this has to do with the way FB captures and renders these links. Theres close to nothing much that can be done, the fact you did upload a phot instead of allowing FB to fetch them from the site is a great idea.

FB may have only grabbed Concert in the Edd as it is the title of the form page.

    Thank you.

    @siriuslux

A page must have meta description tags for Facebook to pick that up and display as the shared post's description.

Sadly, we do not allow customization of JotForm-hosted form source codes. You may instead do the following:

    1. Get the form's full source codes
    2. Add meta description to the codes
    3. Embed them to your site
    4. Share your webpage's URL on Facebook
