    Time stamp not correct with DATE command

    Asked by ceu.csupomona on February 21, 2014 at 01:14 PM

    Hello,

    Was changing how the email are sent and put this command for the title.

    {form_title}_{DATE:Full-US}

    And i would get like the wrong time stamp with the date.

    I attached the photo and in red circle showing the wrong time in the title compared to actual time that it was submitted.

    In the pdf form it shows the correct time but its only the title with the date command. It seems to be off by 3 hours and morning and nights. showing pm instead of am and am instead of pm.

    I hope i provided enough info but if not let me know what else i can add.

    Hello,

    Thank you for contacting us.

    The differences you highlighted are because of the time settings on your email client (Gmail - Outlook etc)

    The only way they can both have the same time is if the time zone settings are similar in both locations - looks liek the form is in US Time - EST, the Email client seems to be almost around the world from this time zone.

    To adjust your form's Time zone, follow the directions shown below:

    Let us know if this helps.

    Hi, on my jotform settings i selected the america/los angeles time zone. But when i test it again it still did not show the correct time that is on the email client. Both are set for PST.

    some how its picking up the wrong time?

    Sorry about that.

    That is quite unusual -

    Please share a screenshot of the email so that we can take a look at the time disparity after the change, then advice.

    Use this guide to upload the screenshot in your response.

    Thank you for your patience.

    Hmm,

    Do the following:

    Delete the US stip-tag in your email title:

    Then save out all changes on any form you may be working on and clear your form cache - then try again.

    I tested that - It shoud work this time with the timezone you have on your settings.

    Let us know.

    Hello, I followed your instruction and deleted the US and cleared the cache. and test it again. I got the below email subject:

    Cyber Security Notify Me_February000000FridayFriday

    Ok, I also just did {DATE} and it showed the right date and time. But I dont want that format that just the date itself came. But everytime when i tried the {DATE:Full-US} it gave me the incorrect time stamp and then when I tried the {DATE:Full} it just gave me what you see above. And Another form i have with the {DATE:Full-US} works just fine. It has the correct time stamp. So that is what is weird.

    Oh my - my mistake.

    Where was my head!

    Forgive me.

    The Date/Time tags work with the server time, which is always at EST - so this might not serve you as you wish.

    I have a workaround (illustrated):

    1. Add a Time field to your form - name it 'time', and turn on "default time" as shown

    2. Hide the field as shown -

    3. In the email notification, add the following in the title:

    {form_title}_{DATE:Date-US} at {time}

    Run a test - It should show the current time in your time zone with the correct Date as well.

    Thank you I will have to give this a try tomorrow. But I just want to say that i have another form that I use the same command and the time stamp was correct so it seems kind of weird to see that this one is not working correctly.

    Thank you. I will post back when i get the chance to do the work around.

    Ok, I tried it this way and it works. But will the {date:Full-US} be fixed later on? I dont really want to put the time on the form to just make it work the way it should work.

    But again thank you. Got it working through this work around.

    Good to know. :-)

    I will ask the support team and advice on the {date:Full-US} tag feature.

    Thank you for your patience.

    The {date:Full-US} should display the time you have on your settings.

    I would like to confirm whether we might have problem with the feature - please bear with me.

    Try the following:

    1. Clone your form using this linked guide

    2. Using the clone, add the tag on your form's subject line as before: {form_title}_{DATE:Full-US}

    3. Do a submit - Does it show the time you set in your Jotform account?

    If not, I will escalate this to development so that they can take a look.

    Oh I forgot to mention. I did a clone of the form too and it did not work. The only way it worked was that workaround with the time you had mentioned.
