How to add different values for each dropdown options?

Asked by daviddsv on February 27, 2014 at 02:20 AM

    Hi Support,

I'm trying to create a list of simple medical terminology to the front end user but want to translate that list into a coded message. For example, I've created a drop down listing of Regular Heart Beat and Irregular Heart Beat with the Data FieldName of Regularity. But in the background I need to translate this into their coded equivalent:

    Regularity 364074009^Regularity of Heart Rhytm

    Regular Heart Beat 271636001^Pulse Regular

    Irregular Heart Beat 61086009^Pulse Irregular

Beating my head around this one. Hope you can help.

    Hello David,

If I understand your requirement correctly, you want to achieve the key value pair functionality. That means every dropdown options will have a different value and that should be saved in the database/submissions. Is that correct?

Unfortunately, we do not have such feature to add values for dropdown list options. But your requirement is very much achievable by downloading your form's source code and adding custom code. If this sounds good, I will be happy to create a small demo form for you.

We will wait for your response.

    Thank you!
