Look up selection and autofill the next text box

Asked by vedghotge on February 27, 2014 at 09:28 AM

I have a combobox Name Part Number.

The user will make a selection on the combobox and the next line that has a text box should be populated automatically.

    How do I do this?

    Hi,

That's possible on the form builder with hide/show conditions.

However, you have to create each field for each Part Number Description and then add a default value.

    Example:

If Part Number = 1, show Part Number Description (With default value)

If Part Number = 2, show Part Number Description (With different default value)

If Part Number = 3, show Part Number Description (With different default value)

    And so on...

If you need further assistance, let us know here.

    Regards!

That is not what I am looking for.

    If I have 4K part numbers, I can’t create 4K conditions.

I need something similar to a Vlookup in excel, where the Combobox when activated with Data, goes to a separate table and pulls the column data from the respective row where the specific part number is.

    @vedghotge

Unfortunately, we do not have such feature as of the moment. That is the only workaround you could try on the form builder. However, if you know javascript, you can take your form source code and inject the scripts to perform such function.

    Thanks!
