Remember a selected drop down answer on reload of formAsked by RHemery on March 03, 2014 at 09:18 AM
I have a simple form that's used by call operators 'logging calls' using a JotForm. Please see link below:
When the form is submitted, it just re-loads the page with the form. Is there anyway the 'Who are you?' could be remembered from the initial submission when the page loads again?
Thank you for contacting us.
Yes that is possible by passing the value to your next form. Please see this detailed guide on how to prepopulate values to your form http://www.jotform.com/help/107-How-to-Enable-Prepopulating-Fields
Hi could you tell me which part of that guide I should be looking at? It's very long and I'm a bit confused, sorry!
Actually you can easily achieve your requirement by taking advantage of a combination of pre-populating fields feature and custom thank you URL. The following guide should help you:
Pre-populate form fields: http://prepopulate.jotform.io/
Custom thank you URL: http://www.jotform.com/help/38-Redirecting-Users-to-a-Different-Page
I cloned your form and did the changes to achieve your requirement. Please take a look at the following form: http://form.jotformpro.com/form/40613783502955
Do check and get back to us if this is what you are looking to achieve. Feel free to clone this form for a closer look. The following guide should help you in form cloning: http://www.jotform.com/help/42-How-to-Clone-an-Existing-Form-from-a-URL
What i am doing is that I am pre-populating the "Who are you?" dropdown with the form submission data and redirecting to the same form.
Hope this helps.
Do get back to us if you have any questions.
I'm trying to clone your form (http://form.jotformpro.com/form/40613783502955) so I can take a closer look like you suggested but its saying I do not have permission?
I'm sorry for the trouble caused to you.
You may try to clone this form now. Do test it and see if this is what you want to achieve.
Perfect, thanks very much.
