My Submitt button won't work on my Facebook Page.

I've added my code to my tab, and it all looks great.  However when I fill in the form and hit Submitt, nothing happens and it doesn't register on mhy Jotform page either.

I know this may be a FB error, but thought I would try here!

    Thanks
    Isla

    Hello Isla,

I am not sure how you have embedded your form in your facebook page. None of the scripts are actually working on your facebook page including the validation. Have you already checked our guide on how to embed your form in facebook? Please check the guide here:  http://www.jotform.com/help/22-Adding-Form-to-Facebook

I would suggest you to please follow the above guide and re-embed your form in your facebook page. Do get back to us if the issue persists.

    Thank you!

    Hi,
Thanks for your answer. It was originally put up by using the source code. This allowed me to see the form, but bot be able to submit it.
I have now done it using the FB code as per your link, but using this, I can't even see the form. Facebook are now using Static HTML-Thunderpenny if this makes any difference!
    Thanks again,
    Isla

    Hello Isla,

    Thank you for the update.

Ideally, Iframes and remote content do not run well on Facebook

However, if you modified the code a little, you could use the form's source code to embed your form on a facebook tab.

I used the same HTML app as you (Thunderpenny) to embed this page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Testing-Page-for-embeds/427004370778458?id=427004370778458&sk=app_190322544333196

I tested it twice, and it worked. It contains your form's source code (Winterfest Stand Application 2014), I hope that was the correct form.

If it is, please copy the code you need to make it work from this pastebin: http://pastebin.com/xdUgCTKJ

You are welcome, we're happy to help.

The pastebin code will be avalable for the next two weeks, then it will depreciate automatically.

Please let us know when you are done, and I shall take down the test Facebook page.

    Hi!
So sorry, I had to make a small change to the form yesterday afternoon, but have noticed that it didn't add the change on the Facebook page. Do I need to enter the new code again?
    Thanks again!

    @islachamberspandc

Yes, you have to take your form source code again and embed it to your FB page. That's the downside when using source code. You should probably consider using iframe embed code as it is recommended embed type for FB pages. Otherwise if you don't, you can stay with form source code but you have to update your embed code every time you make changes on your form.

    Thanks!

P.S. When you embed your iframe code, make sure the form URL is secure otherwise the form won't appear when viewing it live. It is stated on the guide that Secure Form is required on FB pages.

    Hi,
Thanks so much for your reply. Just checking, I had problems previously (see earlier emails) it ended up with a different code being sent to me from another Jotform support staff. Can I just copy the code from the Jotform site or do I need a special one?
    Thanks again!

Thanks. I have done all that. The form loads, but the 'submit' button doesn't work.
As per my emails on The 7th, please see the Jotform response that got it to work, as well as my original email:

    Hi Isla,

Actually, it is NOT highly recommended to use the form's source code embed on Facebook page.

In the first place, it should have not been the suggested best method. I suspect the submit button is not working because there is a script conflict between the form and those scripts in the Facebook page.

The static html iframe tab embed method suggested in the Facebook guide http://www.jotform.com/help/22-Adding-Form-to-Facebook is the recommended embed method

Can you please retry re-embedding the form http://www.jotform.co/form/40641665056858 into your Facebook page using the guide.

    It should really work.

You can test your embedded form in my test Facebook page herehttps://www.facebook.com/testjotformsurvey/app_190322544333196.

I only used the JotForm Facebook guide.

    Thanks.

    Hello Isla,

Test out the method my colleage has offered - its always beneficial to have options - since you would need to embed the form each time you make changes in the builder..

    ****

If you still want to go the source code method  or if you experience difficulties- here's the pastebin - http://pastebin.com/9nQTK0Tr

Here's the test page again - let me know when I can take it down: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Testing-Page-for-embeds/427004370778458?sk=app_190322544333196&ref=s

I should have explained why the source code works in the first place so that you can apply the same principle:

    1. The HTML tab apps on facebook use Iframes, which is why an Iframe embedded within then does not sometimes load all the content - possibly because Facebook blocks remotes scripts that have not been solicited by the app...In any case...

    2. To make your source code work, you need to create the HTML standard page so that the browser and the Iframe work as expected. This is accomplished using the form source code:

    a. Add a doctype at the top of the page - <!doctype html>

    b. Put the meta, scripts and css information inside the head tag <head></head>

    c. Put everything within the form tags inside the body tag -  <body></body>

    d. Put everything (other than the doctype) inside html tags <html></html>

A sample code of your latest form is in the pastebin link - go ahead and examine it for my description in #2 above.

Also, make sure you get the secure source code using this linked guide

Your free account only allows for 10 secure SSL submissions per month (activated by putting the form on facebook) - I hope you are able to work with this quota.

Let us know if this helps.

    Hi,
Thankyou so much for your help.
I did have it working and had got a submission from it, however only some people were able to access the form. I have had someone send me a photo of what they are seeing when they open the form:
This was using the FB embedded form from the embed options on Jotform. Thanks for sending the alternative through. I will paste that in and see if that makes a difference.
I really appreciate you taking the time to explain it out step by step. Fingers crossed I should be right from here. I used this last year, made several changes, and had no problems uploading the form. Facebook drives me insane sometimes!
    Thanks again,
    Isla
