How to populate form fields with the data we already have?

    Hello

First thank you for this awesome service you provide.

I've created my form (customer data update), but I'd like to prefil the elements we already have (name adress etc)

Of course it should be protected with a login and/or password

    Is this possible?

    Best regards

    Hello Pharmamed,

Do you mean to say that you want to populate your fields from any data source or submission records? Unfortunately, we do not have such feature. If you just want to show the details of your customer, you can take advantage of our conditional logic feature to show hide address field based on the account selection. The following guide should help you:  http://www.jotform.com/help/196-How-to-Hide-or-Show-Multiple-Fields-at-Once-Based-On-a-Single-Conditional-Entry

But if your requirement is to pull the customer data from submission records / any external source and then update the same record. It is not possible to achieve currently.

If your data is not in any external source but in submission list, there is a possibility to edit the submissions records. You will have to preserve the edit link. I am not sure how helpful this will be in your scenario but it is worth taking a look at the following guide:  http://www.jotform.com/help/40-How-to-Let-Users-Update-Their-Form-Submissions-at-a-Later-Date

Do get back to us if you have any questions.

    Thank you!

    Hello Pharmamed,

Sorry, I missed to answer your question related to password field.

Unfortunately, it is not advisable to add a password field in your form. We have automated anti-phishing system which scans all forms and mark them with probability of being used for phishing activities.

Instead of password field you can use some other text and create a conditional logic to show hide fields based on your user input: The following guide should help you: http://www.jotform.com/help/196-How-to-Hide-or-Show-Multiple-Fields-at-Once-Based-On-a-Single-Conditional-Entry

    http://www.jotform.com/help/57-Smart-Forms-Using-Conditional-Logic

I am not sure how helpful it will be if you use edit link feature.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Yes indeed I wanted to use an external data source (XLS files for example)

    It would have been useful
