Assign A Value To A Drop Down Field?

Anyone know if its possible to assign a value to a drop down field? For instance, I am trying to setup an auto calculation based on a drop down menu choice. However, the choices are not numbers. So if the customer chooses for example “option one” I want to calculate based on the assigned value to “option one”. Not sure if this would require an "if this, then that" style hidden field or if its possible at all. Let me know if anyone has done this. Thanks!

From what I understand, you are trying to make the type of calculation that will be performed dependant on the selection of the drop down menu.

Here is an example form that displays the calculated fields depending on a selection. For Example Option 1 will multiply your inputted value to 2, while Option 2 will multiply it to 3. As we have assigned different values to calculate depending on the drop down menu value.
