    Calculation Field Giving Null Value & Conditions Not Working Correctly

    I have several fields that are pulling information from other areas in the form (ie. Pulling Child's Name into the Photography Permission and Medical Waiver).  They were working correctly and now it is giving a value of "0" instead of the child's name.  It doesn't matter whether I am using a field that was using the old way of calculating or the new widget.  They are all giving me null values.  I am not sure why it is doing this.


    I am also having issues with my conditions not working correctly.  The main one is the Child's Name fields under the photo and medical waiver sections.  If the person enters 1 for "how many children are you registering" then only that one name should show up and not the other blank fields.  I am also having issues with the payment section of things not showing up when they are suppose to and other fields not hiding when they are suppose to.  I have reentered them all, tried to make sure they are in the correct order, and double checked everything (triple or more checked everything).  I have used different browsers and different computers...same issues.

    I have been working on this form for way to long all because things are not working correctly and there does not seem to be a reason why they are not.

    We are truly sorry if this has caused troubles on your form. There have been major updates on the calculation tool which I think has caused these issues to arise. Unfortunately, we no longer support the old calculation method. With that said, calculation can now be made possible using "Form Calculation" found on Widgets Section. Sorry but you have to replace the fields if you still want to copy text values from another field and populate it to the calculation field.


    Here's how it works on the new calculation tool.


    I tested your form conditions and so far they're working just fine specially the number of child  entered on the first page. May I suggest you to clear your browser's cache and check it again. If you think it still does not behave properly like before, may I suggest you to create a separate thread for this so we can assist you further. Sorry but we cannot handle unrelated questions per thread. Thanks for your understanding.

    I know how to do this...I have done this on most of mine. Things were still okay and then they stopped working. Also, the issue was in happening in the fields that was created with the widget as well.

    I'm getting frustrated that things will work one minute and then not the next....regardless of the browser or computer. And on the second computer, the cache was cleared. This computer is always cleared after each use.

    And why can't the old fields work? I understanding updating things, but when it makes things already created stop working, it is frustrating.

    Sorry to hear that. I was able to reproduce the problem but I think the following solution would help.

    Added fields on the calculation formula are also indicated by colors. If the field is color orange, it means it only accept numbers. If it's black, it accept letters/numbers as text. Now, on your case, you have to check the "Insert field as Text" first before you add fields so it output black fields.



    Please do all this with the other fields and save the form. It should work.


    I am also creating a report ticket about this to our developer so they can enhance the calculation tool, perhaps a way to switch fields to accept number only or both would save some time.

    Okay, that needs to be put somewhere else.  It is not clear that that is the order in which things have to be done.  What I am having a hard time understanding is that it worked fine yesterday and then it just stopped working, even before I changed anything.

    It is working again.  I am really tired of "fixing" things.  This update for the calculations does not give me confidence in this form working long term.

    However, my "calculations" may be working, but the conditions are still not acting right. I had all this working before. And it hasn't mattered which computer, which browser, or which cache I clear (or how many times I clear them)...they are still not working correctly.  (ie. Under Photograph Permission, when 1 child has been input, only one field with that child's name should appear.  I am getting four fields with the child's name in the last field and the 3 other blank ones should be hidden).

    The "How Many children are you registering" conditions are not working when it is equal to 3, 2, or 1.  It is working correctly when equal to 4.
