Hi there,
we are experiencing duplicate form submissions on both of our forms, which is very unlikely to be triggered by our customers themselves.
Example:
They are all filled out in exactly the same way, however they will be triggered at different times. On one occasion we had one of them being triggered one day apart from one another. Is our client also receiving confirmation mails from us each time then? We'd want to strictly prevent this.

Hello,
I hope you're doing well and thanks for reaching out.
A duplicate submission could be caused by a reloaded thank you page. When the form's thank you page is reloaded, the same submission is being sent to our servers again. This happens mostly on mobile browsers based on my experience.
There are a few ways to combat this. Please see the guides below to see which one would be applicable based on your situation:

The answer is yes. Email notifications will only be sent out though to the person who submitted the form if it is enabled.
Let us know if you need further assistance.
Best regards,
