    questions about the service

Asked by Jacob  on March 18, 2014 at 05:43 AM

    Dear JotForm Support

    A couple of questions:

How long is an online application form available for once created?

I see that you have a "file upload" tool. Can we add additional information or other documents as attachments to the form?

Similarly, if some submitting a form needs to upload a file (e.g. a CV), can this be done and is it uploaded to your server for us to retrieve?

Can people save an application to come back to it later?

Do we send the link to a form out by email? I see in your user guide that the main route is to embed the form on a website...

Are the completed appliation forms available both online and downloadable for printing?

Sorry if some of these questions are covered by your user guide, I didn't manage to get answers for these with the search function.

    Best wishes

I kindly ask you to keep one question per thread so we can be more efficient and that other users can also access this information.

How long is an online application form available for once created?

The form is available for as long as you wish.

The free plan has 100 monthly submissions on the account. If you go over the amount of submissions of your plan both your forms and your account get disabled until the beginning of the next month when the counter gets reset to 0.

You can also manually disable the form:

You can limit the amount of submissions of the form or set up an expiration date, after which the form becomes unavailable:

I see that you have a "file upload" tool. Can we add additional information or other documents as attachments to the form?

I'm not sure what you mean with additional information, but you can define the accepted file extensions (file type). Also you can define the max file size. The default value is 1024kb (1Mb):

Similarly, if some submitting a form needs to upload a file (e.g. a CV), can this be done and is it uploaded to your server for us to retrieve?

Yes, by using the file upload field under form tools it is possible to upload files (as mentioned before). The uploaded file can than be downloaded by consulting the submissions or downloading a submission list:

Can people save an application to come back to it later?

It is possible to save a form a form to continue later either by the autofill feature:

    https://www.jotform.com/help/227-How-to-Enable-Auto-Fill-Feature-Save-Form-Entries-to-Continue-Later

    Or by creating 2 forms:

    https://www.jotform.com/help/97-How-to-Save-Forms-to-Continue-Later?

Do we send the link to a form out by email? I see in your user guide that the main route is to embed the form on a website...

It is possible to do it both ways: you can embed your form in a website or you can use the standalone version and send the link by email:

Are the completed application forms available both online and downloadable for printing?

    Yes.

You can consult the submissions in your account, you can download them as PDF, Excel, CSV or you can print them:

Feel free to contact us whenever needed.
