Large uploaded images not appearing on custom Thank You page

Asked by jaagster on March 18, 2014 at 03:31 PM

I have the Thank You apge set up to display the uploaded image. When I test and upload a small image - 115KB - it appears as should be. But when I upload a larger image - 13MB - it does not appear. The only thing that appears is a small placeholder graphic.

It may take a few minutes for uploaded images to be synced from our servers to S3. That's why, it is not a good idea to show uploaded files immediately after the file is uploaded.

    Yes it is possible.

For that use the Your photo tag:

As a followup to this, do you think you can resolve the "delay sync" issue? I have read many inquries on the forum regarding the same issue and the importance of having an uploaded image show immediately after upload. As noted, small images do appear but not large images.

    Hello jaagster,

For large uploaded images you should always show the image URL instead of showing the image itself. I am not sure how "Delay Sync" can be resolved as it does take some time for the image to be synced.

    Thank you!

Unlike the email image link, the Thank You page displays a convuluted long url which is not clickable and very confusing to customers? Can the Thank You page display the image link?

I believe I found a good solution in a previous post:

Thought I resolved this but not quite. A previous solution by your support showed how to create a link to display an uploaded image in the Thank You page. The solution was to use the following code:

    <a target="_blank" href="/{YourPhoto}" >{FILENAME:YourPhoto}</a>

This code does indeed create a link - however it adds a prefix before the http:// as such:

    submit.jotformpro.com//http://www.jotformpro.com/uploads/jaagster/40796.....

    The prefix - submit.jotformpro.com/ - is causing a problem and delivering a 404 error.
Removal of this prefix would resolve the problem. The image link would work and display
    the image on the sever.

When "view page souce" is displayed there is no prefix, the link shows as it should - http:// ..-.
What gives here and how do we get rid of the prefix?

    @jaagster

Yours has slash, can you removed the slash before {YourPhoto} tag? This should work.

Example: Removed the slash (in red)

    <a target="_blank" href="/{YourPhoto}" >{FILENAME:YourPhoto}</a>

Paste it on your thank you page:

    Regards!

I removed it but every time I save it the slash is put back in the code and the prefix

is still there - submit.jotformpro.com/http: ... How can I remove the slash?

    Hello jaagster,

It seems you are right. I did try to remove the slash from the hyperlink but it always adds a "/" before the uploaded file URL.

As we cannot create multiple ticket on one thread, I will create a new thread for this issue and report this to our back end team. We will get back to you as soon as we have any update on this.

    Thank you!
