Follow Up to: Re: How can I limit the punctuation/string in email text boxes?

Asked by wsisme on March 18, 2014 at 04:56 PM

this is a follow up to the question I asked earlier concerning  the punctuation used in email boxes.

    You responed with:

If you grab the email field (under Quick Tools) is ready to avoid punctuation, it will not allow test@test,com   or similar

I'd like to update you on the situation. We had originally used the "quick tools" email box and have since tried using a NEW "quick tools" box and still have the same situation. The email box is still alowing punctuations etc.

So this quick tool still hasent solved my situation. Is it somethihng I'm doing in the set up that is conflicting with the quick tool?

    Thanks You for the help

    Hello Nick,

On the contrary, you are using it correctly.

This happens because the validation accepts all those values as valid email addresses.

Please try using the Email Correctness Widget under "widgets" as shown:

Let us know if this helps.
