The form will show the errorAsked by teedart on March 19, 2014 at 09:42 AM
- I'm thinking this might be caused by the integration trying to send all the files at once - and not in a queue
- FTP is normally allowed a very narrow bandwidth - hence the failed uploads - please create the new thread and reference this support thread in your new thread.
Starting a new thread.... Here's the previous one:
This has been going on for quite some time now and I would appreciate a the quickest support possible. It is affecting our work flow!

Thanks for opening a new thread.
After trying many different ways to resolve the issue from our end (support team) with no luck, I think it's the time to forward this bug to our next level support. That way they can help us to find a solution quickly.
I already described in the ticket how the issue can be reproduced in your form http://form.jotformpro.com/form/20673884173965
So, please keep the form as it is now, so that our next level support can test it, you can clone the form to continue doing tests from your side.
We will update you via this thread once the form is resolved.
Thanks for your understanding.
I just wanted to check in on the status of our form.
Your issue is still being deliberated by our development team.
We really appreciate your patience, and we will provide updates as soon as they are available.
Just wanted to see if any progress had been made? Sorry to be a bother, but this is seriously affecting our work flow.
I noticed that this person had a similiar problem and redirecting the submission to a diifferent jotForm domain seemed to help.
I really need some for of an update to give to my manager, so that they know that the situation is being checked on.
Thank you for your time.
We completely understand the urgency of this matter for you.
We have not received any specific information about the progress on this issue from our dev team, but taking a look a the ticket that was forwarded to them I can see that it has been already assigned to a specific developer and it has been flagged as "IMPORTANT". So, there is no doubt the developer is working already in a solution.
Regarding to the related thread you found I see that the Developer Lyam pointed ou that the cause may be the mix of Jotform domain in the submit URL of the form and the connection to the FTP, so probably this factor will be taken in account in the troubleshooting process the developer is doing regarding to your issue. However, this may change in your case, at any rate, that will be something that our developer will determine and will inform us about.
We will be looking into this issue and if we receive any update from the dev team we will inform you as soon as possible so that you can have this form working soon.
Thanks for your patience.
Good Morning. Any new development on this matter?
Please accept our apologize for the long time this issue is taking to be resolved.
Our dev team has not updated us yet. But your message has been forwarded to them so that they can be awared of the urgency of this matter.
Once we received any information about the progress on this fix, we will update you as soon as possible.
Your patience is highly appreciated.
I've been making a series of tests on your FTP server and somehow, it's a bit intermittent. At one point I'd be able to view your folders, then suddenly I'd go having errors in connection, or eventually, I'd get cut off when trying to check another folder. This is probably the same reason as well why you're having the Wrong Hostname error. Do you have another webhost which you can use?
I'm not sure what the issue is I have no trouble connecting, unless I'm connecting via jotForm. I can connect to the FTP in my browser and using cyber duck. I don't think it's our webhost. I've even contacted them already concerning this issue and they said there were no problems on their end.
The ticket on this issue is still open, and your message has reached our developer -
Thank you for your continued patience.
My webhost is asking what IP address you are connecting from.
"We recently released brute force protection for FTP on our servers and it's possible they are triggering that. "
Thanks for the additional information.
Your message has been forwarded to our developer. So, he will get back to you once he is available.
You can give the following addresses:
I got the following back from my host.
I have reset the FTP integration on JotForm and succeeded in making a valid connection. I am no longer getting the error regarding the wrong host name. I proceeded with following the steps that you have provided and it appears to have uploaded a file successfully.
You may verify by the time stamp of the file "README.txt" that was uploaded just recently.

The file reads:
You have successfuly completed your integration with JotForm.
From now on your uploads on your form will be transfarred to this folder.
If you want to cancel this integration, just go to Submissions page open preferences
and click to "Send Uploads to FTP" button. In the opening window click on the "Remove Integration" button.
From here, it appears that the JotForm.com site is greyed out, and now allowing me to do anything else. Like it is currently working and trying to upload the rest of the files, however I do not see any additional files uploaded. We have confirm that the connection is now good and that it was able to upload to your server, however I am unable to provide additional support as to why JotForm software is not uploading the rest of your forms. You will need to get in contact with them to resolve this problem.
Please let us know if you have any questions or require further assistance.

I did a test. And under submissions in the jotForm interface it shows the pictures, however in the email that is received it is a broken link. When you click on it you get a 404 page.
I looked at my FTP and folder 262190307212999826 doesn't exsist.
For some reason it didn't create the folder, and it still refused to let me do more than two files. This is as far as I have gotten (and can get) to find a problem. Thanks!
Thank you for your input. Please verify with your hosts support team if the folder with that name was created in nany part of their system. This ay we may be able to assist you better.
Neverthless once our Dev Team has any updates for you, they willl let you know through this thread. Thank you.
This is the response I got from them:
The ftp logs shows that at one point, the directory did exist and the file gg.jpg was uploaded.

Thank You for providing us with the extra details about this. I will pass this along to our developer in charge of your thread. I also believe that we will need a little bit more time to try to figure this out further and to check everything again. But as soon as we know something we'll get back to you.
Thank You. I did get the images to show, if I go and make the folder manually and then upload the images to it. But it's quite the workaround!
I look foward to a solution. :)
Thanks for all your hard work!
Good Afternoon, I was just wondering if anything new is happening? Thanks!
Hi, so far there is no news from our developer team yet, I see the ticket for this matter is still opened, you will be notified via this thread as soon as they fix this, thanks for your patience.
We've been very patient in the matter, and doing to work around to get by. It's been a month now (since the orgnial thread). Is there any word on this?
We may have to take our business else where soon if this isn't resolved in a timely matter.
I'm sorry for the trouble caused to you.
Unfortunately, we have not received any update from our back end team. I did check the bug report status and found that it is already assigned to one of our developer. Though we cannot give you an ETA on this but our developer is already looking into this particular issue.
We will get back to you as soon as we have any update from them.
It seems that your server throttles whenever there are simultaneous connections/transimissions. I've again integrating on my server and your FTP kept failing. I only had a chance to successfully connect after I let it rest for about 5 minutes.
Upon checking the logs of testing a transfer fail, here's what I found:
FTP Integration :: Wrong Host Name, Upload Error -- This error happened while there were other files being transfered.
Also, I've tried doing an FTP integration on other webhosting services like awardspace and 000webhost, I did not have any problem with transfering more than 5 files simultaneously.
So what do I need to do to resolve the problem?
Your FTP is based on Pure-FTPd server, that server has many options and we think that the issue is related to your server configuration.
For example, there is a 'max connection per ip' option of Pure-FTPd server. Can you ask your server administrator to increse that parameter to see if that makes any difference for JotForm uploads?
'-C <max connection per ip>': Limit the number of simultanous connections coming from the same IP address. This is yet another very effective way to prevent stupid denial of services and bandwidth starvation by a single user. It works only when the server is launched in standalone mode (if you use a super-server, it is supposed to do that) . If the server is launched with
I contacted my host with what you said and this is what they told me:
"I do apologize, but since this is a shared hosting server, we are unable to make custom configurations as these are server wide settings. For advanced customization of the hosting environment you would need to look into upgrading to a VPS account."
I don't understand much when it comes to FTP servers, VPS accounts, etc. So I need you to advise me on what to do. I'm not sure why we have problems, since we haven't had them before. We have always used you guys and Host Gator together with no problem.
What should our next step be?
JotForm Support Manager
Seems like HostGator is trying to push you to buy an upgrade. They probably changed their settings making unable to work as it was before.
My advise for you is to get a dedicated hosting service rather than a shared one, to allow you to easily setup your forms with FTP. Another option could be awardspace or 000webhost, which are free.
I appreciate your input. However, I just tried 000webhost and I got the same results.
I checked on this via a new test website I created through " 000WebHost " and I was able to submit a file with no issues. I'll admit I'm surprised you are unable to send here. So far after checking it more including a test through a copy of your form both of these were working very well on my end for the suggested alternative that was provided.
I would like to try to help figure this problem out more so I am requesting if I may have your permission to run a test of this directly inside your JotForm account if that is alright with you? I want to try to figure this problem out more for comparison. I think this will help with rooting out the cause.

That is fine with me KadeJM. Please run a test, do whatever you need to do!!!!!
I had tested a form integrated to my personal FTP account, and I could not produce similar issue.
This thread had gotten so long already, and seems all possibilities to replicate the problem had been exhausted.
But one option I think that had not been tried was using a very basic form (with only Name and Upload field perhaps) and integrate it to your FTP account. Can you try this?
Test the form if it will result to similar problem.
Our colleague KadeJM will provide you updated response when he is back online.
For the meantime, I would like to inform you that the submitted ticket about the mentioned issue is still open. The assigned developer will update again when new status about the ticket is available.
Just wanted to check in on our situation. We are still having to create folders on our ftp and upload files so that the form will work. As anyone had luck in finding an answer to this issue?
We are starting to consider taking our business elsewhere.
I do understand how this is something that is frustrating you beyond a reasonable doubt. On top of that I would like to extend to you my most sincere apologizes for being unable to get back to you about this sooner. I had posted a response not too long ago which was some time ago after your confirmation and my colleagues follow-up. But I can see that for some reason it did not go through even though I had thought it did so that is my fault for not ensuring it got to you.
I had tested this further and so did one of our developers whom was assigned to this issue. Both our results were the same and it has since been confirmed that our system is working appropriately alongside my own investigations. We are not seeing any such problems from our end between our server and sending files through ftp uploads. I am thinking there very well could be something within your FTP Server that might be filtering or blocking the uploads from arriving correctly.
I had checked on this again today now that it has been some time just to be certain, but again it is still the same results.
I have also done some further research on this matter, but I'm not seeing any further reports or leads to follow this as a problem more. Additionally, I found a Penny Offer that was given to me by HostGator and I am working on playing around with it to see if I can figure out the problem more but this will indeed take more time. I am going to bookmark this thread and get back to you shortly.
I there. I was just wondering how your host gator research was coming along?
I do not have a hostgator account to test this, but when I test the FTP integration with my local FTP server it works just fine.
Is there any way that you can try to create a new FTP login and use it on the integration? I think it might worth trying.
