    How to make a product selected by default

    Asked by rcmof on July 20, 2011 at 05:08 PM

    How do I make the product checked by default. People are missing the "check"  radio button so then the form just takes them a thank you for submission. This is not a submission from it's to registration and make payments.

    Form - http://snapoutofitwomensnetwork.com/index.php/tickets

    Thank You

    Hi,

    Try linking to this url with query strings appended to pre-select the Paypal product:

    http://snapoutofitwomensnetwork.com/index.php/tickets?myProducts[][id]=1001

    You can also re-embed your form as an iframe, then append the string ?myProducts[][id]=1001

    right after the url in the iframe embed codes.

    To get your form's iframe codes:

    1.  Go to Setup & Embed tab
    2.  Click Embed Form
    3.  Click iFrame

    4.  Copy the codes provided in the succeeding screen

    For example, if the iframe code for your form is:

    <iframe allowtransparency="true" src="https://www.jotform.com/form/11311451122" frameborder="0" style="width:100%; height:1049px; border:none;" scrolling="no">
    </iframe>

    it will be

    <iframe allowtransparency="true" src="https://www.jotform.com/form/11311451122?myProducts[][id]=1001" frameborder="0" style="width:100%; height:1049px; border:none;" scrolling="no">
    </iframe>

    after appending the query string.

    Note that the query string I provided is specific to your form, which means it will not work with every other form. If you have other forms that you want to have the product selected by default, please let me know.

    We'd love to hear how this solution works for you. We'll be awaiting your response. Thanks!

    I have modified my form to have the product selected by default and hide the checkbox.  BUT, the total doesn't reflect in the form unless the user selects a quantity and or delivery option.

    I would like the total cost of $10 to appear when the form first loads to match the 1st item in the quantity dropdown of "1"

    See form here: http://www.islanddesignstudio.com/clients/jcs/order.htm

    Thank you

    @jamaicamama

    The script responsible for calculating the total will only work on user-triggered actions. That is the reason why the form only calculates the total when you click on any of the check boxes with a price. I'm sorry but there's no way around this.

    Thank you Neil. Is it possible to add an option "Select Quanity" to the qty dropdown?  Will doing so affect the forms functionality?

    --- I tested it and it worked!  :)
