Hi I though I would be able to follow simple instructions on how to create  a form so people can send me data via an email to me I was wrong....I created the form ok but I am having great difficulty in placing the email bit into the form. I set up the emails to come to me originally because i had all the information re SMTP etc. The form is for my computer club website, and wanted the emails to go to the enquiries email box of the web site. I need to speak to someone if possible to talk me through the set up procedure as my original set up I cannot get rid of it or change it. Ive tried deleting the email and starting over but the same default email keep comming back.

Hi, when following the guide "Setting Up Email Notifications", did you make sure to fill all fileds like this:

Then to make sure you will get the notifications to your email address, you need to submit a live form, click on preview and fill the form out, click on submit.

If you still do not get the notification, you may white-list our domain names.

(We use Amazon SES method for "noreply@jotform.com" sender.)

    ·        jotform.com
    ·        email.amazonses.com
    ·        amazonses.com
    ·        jotform.co
    ·        secure.jotform.co
    ·        s3.amazonaws.com
    ·        static-interlogyllc.netdna-ssl.com
If you do not want  our email address noreply@jotform.com being set up as the Sender E-mai.  You can use Mandrill to send emails from your own email address.

Hi Thanks for your reply. I think I understand what your saying and when I originally set the emails to be sent to me to test it worked , they did, my responer has 3 emails sent.I now want to change the sending email address to somehwere else, but i want to use my own email account smtp to send them. can that be done, Ive tried changing stuff but when i click check email it still comes up with my own email address and not the one I want to send it to.I hope this makes sence....I have tried following the detailed instructions but as I said I am now lost in a continious circle i cannot get out of.

I now want to change the sending email address to somehwere else, but i want to use my own email account smtp to send them - If you want your own SMTP account then you need to choose the Setup SMTP instead of verify address.

    1. Choose Add Sender Email

    2. Addy our email address then fill your SMTP information details below:

Ok If i set up the smtp to send from my own account, where do I put the email address to send it to.

I want to be able to send the contact form to - enquiries@whcc.co.uk - via my own smtp account, why is this becomming such a complicated affair. every time I go into the email side and test the email I keep getting an email adress that I had previously set it up on, and I cant get rid of the default email adress.

I don't consider myself stupid but this is driving me insaine.

the contact form is to got to enquiries@whcc.co.uk

I want to send the above email through my own smtp this is with my own account steve@home-computer.co.uk

Sender email - is this me or the person filling out the contact form

Sender email - I assume this is my email smtp details Steve@home-computer.co.uk

Reply to email - is this my email or the person filling out the contact form

Recipient email - is this where I want it to go to ie enquiries@whcc.co.uk

    Thanks for helping

I think we need to add some additional notes to our guide about this matter.

Did you make the test via the "Test Email" button the Email Notification wizard? If so, then let me add that "Test Email" button will only send an email to your account primary email address. We've made it this way to stop the function from being abuse.

You have to click "Preview" button from the form builder, make an actual submission so the new form notification recipient email address will receive the form email or the test.

    For Notification Email Settings:

Sender Email: Could be your own email address that is added via the SMTP wizard. You can also use or select noreply@jotform.com from the sender email dropdown options.

Reply-to Email: This is the email address of the person filling out the form. In this case, you have to select the email field of your form where users provide their email address.

Recipient Email: This is your email address or any email address you want the form email to be sent.

For setting up a form notification: Setting Up Email Notifications

For using your own email address as the sender email: How to Add a Custom Sender Address to an Email Alert or you can use Mandrill's SMTP: How to use Mandrill to Send Emails From Your Own Email Address which works best for custom address

For changing form notification recipient email settings: How to change form recipient email address?

I hope that helps. Let us know if you have any further questions.

    Thank you.
