Captcha field is displayed after form is submitted.

I had the same issue the other day. This might help you.

I just deleted the Global countdown widget to disable the captcha, see screen capture below.

Do you mean to say that when you added Global countdown widget in form, it shows captcha field after form is submitted? I did test this in one of my own form and it seems to work as expected.

Please monitor your submission and get back to us if the issue persists.
