Spreadsheet to Form Widget: Use online external source such as Google Sheets, Airtable to pull the data and populate fields

Not meaning to hijack the request, but the option to look up live data from an online source on the form would be a real game changer. Currently the lack of this ability or rather limitation to a static, uploaded file are the only reasons for me to divert away from Jotform to other tools for certain applications.

I'm very impressed with the features and speed the Jotform team churns out releases, a public roadmap with voting feature may help both your team and us as user to a better overview. Thanks!

    Hello!

Would you like to just see some information from an outside source, or would you like it to integrate with the rest of your fields? (fill some of your form fields with the outside data, etc)

If it's the former, you can use the Iframe Embed widget to achieve this - this widget allows you to add a frame to your form that will show content from an outside website:

    Iframe Embed

If it's the latter, that's unfortunately not possible right now, but please let us know what kind of source interests you - if it's something specific, such as Google Sheets or the like, then we will forward it to our developers as a Feature Request.

If it's just any website in general, then I do not think it's possible to implement such a feature due to the varied format of data output between different websites.

    Awaiting your response,

    Thank you!

A Google Sheets integration would be amazing, without a question a game changer! Everything from user plans, product price, purchase orders, current team members, pending warehouse receives, you name it - would all be things we could pull on either forms or apps. Google Sheets already has plenty of integrations and you would instantly make all of those available to JotForm.

    Hello Michal,

Thanks for following up on this, much appreciated. :)

It's not about embedding date but a functionality similar to the Spreadsheet to Form Widget.

The most popular options are Google Sheets and Airtable. Jotform already has a "write/send to" integration for both apps, thus I believe it created the technical groundwork.

A "read/receive from" would empower users to access all their data outside of Jotform to dynamically populate fields. stonekap mentioned some of the possible but seemingly endless use cases.

Piping in external data is a desirable feature for many advanced users and great selling point for your higher tier plans.

Would love to see it implemented one day,
    Ricardo

Thanks for the clarification, Ricardo. I believe we have a few requests similar to this so I'll be adding your ticket to our feature request list so hopefully, the team would consider implementing this in the future and once that happens, we'll inform you right away via this ticket. I also believe it would be a great milestone to produce such a feature for our valued users.

@stonekap, we will also create a separate request ticket for you so you will also be informed via your ticket once this is implemented.

    Have a good one!
