your software is forcing me to supply the password I forgot and now I'm locked in password reset mode and can't get out.

Hello,
First, you would need to reset your original password since you forgot about it already.
Visit Jotform’s Website.
Click on the Login button.
Click the Forgot Password? link at the popup:
Enter either the email address or username.
Click the Send Reset Instructions button.
Check your email inbox for the password reset email.
Click the Reset Password button or the URL provided in the email.
Enter your new password, and click the Reset My Password button, and you’re done.
You will then be asked to create a new password. After that, you can try logging in again.

In addition to the guide provided by @John, I have also gone in and flushed your login attempts, as well as your form cache.

Otherwise the reset link takes me back to the forced reset page.
