Asked by wympy on March 27, 2014 at 04:56 AM

I wish the referrer field enter the name of the page displayed before the completion of the form. I basically different product pages with a button. All buttons lead to the page of the form.  I would like to have in the referrer field the address of the page that brought them. This is possible with the referrer widget?

    Page URL:

    Hi,

If I understand your requirement correctly, I think what you wanted to accomplish is similar to what this article does

    -How-to-Know-the-Exact-URL-of-a-Page-From-Which-a-Submission-Came

The Get Referrer widget is not actually a field or does not have a field, so you could not use its input on the form.

The guide I suggested above, you can use the hidden field as the input source to find out the referrer value.

Hope this help. Inform us if you need further assistance on this.

    Thanks.

    Hello, thanks for the reply.

I've already used "The Get Referrer widget" but the hidden field shows the page that contains the form to fill out. I need to know which page the user clicked to come to my contact page.

I have several pages of products and in each I have a link "Contact me for more information."
This link leads to the page of the form.

I wish that the hidden field brings me the name of the product page from which it was generated the click on the contact button.

I tried to insert the link to my page form a parameter in the URL: www.mypage.com/products/name-product1.htm?PRODUCT-NAME

So in my form I shows the page with a different reference depending on the product that generated the click.

You say that you can take everything and leave only the URL parameter that is after the question mark?

    Hi,

Can you share to us the actual URL of your website where we can further check.

It will help if we can further check the actual settings, and possibly provide a better suggestions.

    Thanks.

Ok, please visit this page "http://www.sistel-networking.it/cablaggio-reti/cavo-fibra-ottica.htm"

There are 2 red buttons. Clicking on them I go to my contact page to fill out the form.

I wish that the hidden field I return the parameter after the question mark that is "Cavo-Fibra-Ottica".

So when I receive the email I have this value and not the whole URL.

Upon visiting the page, I see each red button forwards me to the SAME page. In light none of the alternative would work as both buttons are redirecting the same page.

My recommendation would be to either put the button on different URLs and then use either the Widget or the guide.
