how can I get calculations to update when answer is changed

Asked by daveprenter on March 28, 2014 at 07:38 AM

In my form,  I am setting up some ski holiday packages, 3 nights, 4 nights , 5 nights etc.

Depending on the package chosen (ie 3 night, 4 night etc) the package will include a set number of lift passes per person.  I have put in a condition so that if someone chooses the 3 night package then the no. of lift passes will be "2 x no. of adults".   When I tested the form, it works ok if you put in the number of adults before you select the package type, but if you select the 3 night package type first then it gives you "0" for the number of lift passes.  Also if you subsequently change the number of adults the number of lift passes do not change at all.

    Hello,

    I've seen the behavior  -

It seems the conditional calculation captures values once and does not listen to updates on the variable fields such that you would need to add in the number of adults before you select the ski package.

Is there any way the number of adults can be added in first before selecting the ski package - I'm probably not helping by asking this.

In any case, I have submitted a ticket to our developers to advice on this behavior, and we shall let you know on any updates.

    Thank you for your patience.

Ok thank you very much for that. I will wait to hear from you then. Adding in adults first is not really an option.
    Kind Regards,
    Dave

Wow! Thank you so much. To be honest I didn't think anything would happen very quickly so I managed to find another solution. So now I have to decide between my original plan and the new plan. What a luxury! Thanks again.
    Kind Regards,
