we have two jot account that we use with Microsoft power automate. the issue is whenever a form is modified all the fields coming into power automate change. this has cause no end of grief instead of a 10 minute job to update a form it takes an hour to re add every field into power automate. any change of this changing?

for example if i have field 12/phone number and i add another field before that every following field is now wrong and 12/phone becomes 13/phone.

There are 5 forms in your account.

Could you please specify the form-url so we can check? Thank you.

... well it happens with all of them, the Solar Credit Application is the biggest problem but only because it has more fields and therefore takes way more time to find everything the change broke in power automate. but I believe this is a larger problem then a single form. I think based on how power automate displays the data that instead of using the field's title as the identifier you should generate a unique (per form) ID. that way if a field is added the number of every other field will not change, and if the field title is changed the field name will not change.

Just so we describe the issue correctly for the developers, I just wanted to double-check what happens with your existing data/integration when the form is changed.

With your example, a field being added before the phone number field. After that, you would have to update everything in your Power Automate flow, or just the fields from 12 and forward in this case?

    Best regards,

just any fields after the field I add. for example if I want a new field and it needs to be first I would need to update everything. but if I want it to be the 5th field I would need to update fields 5+ in power automate

    Hey there,

I couldn't figure out from your explanation what goes wrong,

The fields themself don't update and therefore you need to re-map the integration again?

What happens if you don't do that?

I'm just trying to refine the issue so our developers can have a clear idea on what the issue is

    I apologize for the inconvenience,

    Thank you

ok I created a test form and a new power automate flow to demo the issue

    the basic form:

    1638463117_61a8f68d8cca2_2021-12-02 09_3

it has two questions, I created a basic flow that sends the results of those two questions to my phone so we can see the results:

    1638463178_61a8f6cab2eb5_2021-12-02 09_3

this works great as is here is the result of a submission:

    1638463240_61a8f7084c5fb_2021-12-02 09_3

I submitted the form with "question 1" and "question 2" entered in each field respectively.

then we add a new field before question 1 (I should note this does not need to be a field adding anything at all to the form will have the same result affecting anything coming after it)

    1638463357_61a8f77dc1756_2021-12-02 09_3

if we look at our flow now the fields are no longer displaying their labels:

    1638463412_61a8f7b4ac049_2021-12-02 09_3

and this is the result from a form submission:

    1638463445_61a8f7d561686_2021-12-02 09_3

as you can see if you add anything new to a form nothing after that item works anymore the test field is now empty because the fields are no longer associated to the data coming in and you must edit your power automate flow to re-enter every field. not a problem on a little test forms but on larger forms with complex flows this can take an incredible amount of time and if you miss a field it simply wont work.

Also if a user adds say a header they would not expect to need to edit their power automate flow but it will be broken in the same way.

if the issue still does not make sense let me know and I can record a video demoing the problem

I have made a few tests and I was able to replicate the issue.

I will raise it to our back-end team for them to fix it.

We will notify you as soon as the issue is fixed.

    Hi there,

After you add a new field to your form, you need to reintegrate Power Automate. Because we send your answers in a certain order. Integration breaks down when the order changes.

Please let us know if you need further assistance on this matter.

yes I understand this is what you need to do, what I'm saying is that should be changed. instead of sending in order, send with an ID and it would improve user experience.

I will split your thread into a separate one and will escalate this as a Feature Request to our developers:

    Thank you!
