Image Upload Preview does not capture large file uploads.

Asked by GLFoundation on March 31, 2014 at 09:49 PM

I attempted to submit a photo (1.2 mb) through one of my forms.  The text portion of the form was submitted, but the jpeg was not.  I submitted a smaller jpeg (359 kb) with success.  What are the parameters of submitting jpegs?  I will include a statement on my form indicating not to submit a jpeg larger than  xx amount.

    Thank you!

    Hello Kelley,

Upon checking your form, I did not find any issue with that. I sent you a test submission and I was able to upload a 1.16 MB file without any issue. Uploading a large file should not be an issue.

I did check your submission record and it seems that the submissions with large files does not get uploaded through "Image Upload Preview" widget. I tried uploading a small file and that seems to work fine.

I am creating a bug report and sending it to our back end team. We will get back to you as soon as we have any update from them. For now, I will suggest you to use a normal "File Upload" question in your form which can be found under "Form Tools" tab.

    Thank you!

WE apologize for the inconvenience this caused you.

We have updated the Image Upload Preview Widget to accommodate larger files without fail:

The widget provides feedback of the upload progress - so you will know should something go wrong.

Please try it out and share your experience with us.
