How can I send customers the submissions so that they can view them?

Asked by cabinetdoorworld on April 01, 2014 at 01:31 AM

    Hello Jot Form

I have a form that I need for the customer to be able to see the items that he has entered.

The customer needs to see his info.

The customer may have 30 - 40 line items.

Here is the form - http://form.jotform.me/form/40871089560459

Also,  once the customer is finished,  Is there a way for the customer to print the form himself and/or email it to himself???  This way the customer can review the items entered.

We are making custom cabinet doors.  There can not be any mistakes.

    Please Help,

    Thanks for your help,

    Scott Mosteller

    Hello Scott,

What is the customer's name and email?

We can provide a link so that he can view the submissions.

Alternatively, you could go to http://jotform.com/myforms

    1. Select the form - and click on Submissions as shown:

2.Forward the results to the user as shown

To do this automatically from now on - Add an autoresponder to your form as shown in this guide.

Let us know if this helps.

    Jot Form,

    We can view the submissions.

We need the customer to be able to view the items they entered  -  as they enter the items.

So, when he clicks on Next to add more items,   then the line he just completed will show at the bottom. This will be a point of reference for the customer to see what he has entered.

The form may be 30 - 40 line items

    Thanks

    Scott

I could notice that you have inserted the fields in the thank you message, so that users can access the data right after submission and having the option to edit the fields.

Nevertheless I believe that at this moment it is still not possible to preview the inserted data prior to submission, so I will forward this suggestion to our developers so they can analyse the feasibility.

They will contact you through this thread once they have an update on this issue.

Let us know if we can be of more assistance.

    Thanks Carina,

I really do need the customer to see the items and details of their items,  Before they hit submit,

This will save a lot time on the phone and email.  If the customer entered his details incorrectly,  then it is a very big deal.

Cabinet doors is a custom made product and can not be resold or returned.

Please let me know if they can do this functionality.

    Thanks for the help,

    Hello,

Did you discover a way to show the items entered to the customer as they enter them?

    Thanks

    Hi Scott,

A feature request about this idea had been submitted to our dev team already. But we cannot provide you a specific time table when this will be added.

    --

I tried looking for a viable workaround, and I come up with this form http://form.jotform.me/form/40962500877459?

I used the Form Tabs widget to provide tab navigation menu where the form user can easily switch windows/pages in the form -- allowing them to review what they entered/answered on the pages of the form.

In your form's case, you can create a tab menu page assigned to where the user will select the items. The user then can easily get back to that page before they will submit the form (via a dedicated Check Out tab menu also)

Hope this help in any way. Inform us if you need further assistance.

    Thanks!

    Jonathan,

    Thanks for responding.

Great Idea - The form is moving in the right direction

2 things that I have to have to put the form to the public.  ( Can't figure it out yet)

1 - For a homeowner purchasing a kitchen of new cabinet doors - there may be 20 cabinet doors, 10 drawer fronts and 10 drawer boxes.  So,  I need the customer to be able to review their details before he clicks on submit.  ( This will elimate alot of mistakes)

2 - A Major problem  - not sure how to fix  -  When a customer completes one item, then clicks on Next to enter the next item, It returns to the category page - fine.       Then if the customer clicks a catergory again, the old details are still on the form.   Absoulutely can have this. !!!   It must be blank.  If the old details are there.  This is a potential for tons of mistakes.

We have to have this as mistake free as possible, Once the customer orders the products they are each custom made.  No returns,  So,  we can not have mistakes.

Also,  this form is going to be used to quote cabinet makers.  So,  we will be quoting against other manufacturers.  No one else has anything like this.  So, if we make this work,  We will be head and shoulders above them.

    Please help

    Thanks

    Scott

The ticket made by my colleague is to address this issue. Once the Dev Team has any further details on this, they will let us know through this thread.

This is a tricky question as it may depend on the workflow you have decided to go with. I do see that the user is returned to the category page after each customization entry he does to the three categories he needs to input. I may be not understanding correctly. But would all users have to fill out all 3 categories to make their order? Or is it expected for some users to select only one category item and submit just that. I ask so that I can better understand your needs, and that we may provide the best solution.

Do let us know so that we may assist you further. Thank you.

If the form's full source is placed in a web page, a script can be added to populate a table at the end of each page or a single table at the end of the form (as in this demo) with the entries made.

    Cesar,

Thanks for the reply and help -

2 - A Major problem  - not sure how to fix  -  When a customer completes one item, then clicks on Next to enter the next item, It returns to the category page - fine. The Customer may have 10 different door sizes,  So,  he would have to go back to the Cabinet Door Category 10 times,

Currently,  when he returns ,  the last details are still on the category page.  ( This would create a Ton of Mistakes)

I need the category to be blank when the customer selects cabinet doors each time.

    Hope this clariifes things.

Do you know how to Fix this problem?

    Thanks

    Scott

    Thanks Abajan,

I sent this to my programmer.    This may be the solution we need?

I know that Jot Form has to have one.  To make this work.

    Thanks

    Hi Scott,

In case your programmer hasn't provided a script for this as yet, here's a web page containing a clone of your form. Each page of the form contains a table summarizing what would have been entered by the user.

There are two custom scripts in the form. This one early in the code prevents a variant of a behavior known as a flash of unstyled content (FOUC) from happening. (It actually still occurs but it's too fast to detect with the eye.) The other script, just before the closing body tag of the page, changes the display of the summary tables depending on user entries.

Do let us know if this is the functionality you wish (insofar as displaying a summary of entries goes).

    Thanks
