My form users cannot upload files with a size of 500MB through my form, why?

Asked by Antoinesail on April 01, 2014 at 02:11 PM

    hi,

it seems that my visitors cannot upload files that are over a certain size, around 500MB (tried 340MB, ok, 504MB, not ok), eventhough i had put a 1GB limit per file

is there anyway to overcome this?

Also, I'm still testing and trying to see if can make this work for my website, but i have reached the limit of the free account - is there a way to extend this testing period to make sure it works before i conovert to a paying plan for the long term?

    Hi,

Your form users are not able to upload files greater than 500MB, because your account is a Free one and free accounts have only 100MB of available space for uploads. In addition you have already exceeded that limit.

So, to be able to upload files with large size you need to have more available space, which would require your account to be upgraded to one of our paid plans, that way you will have more available space.

If you wish to continue using the Free Starter plan, you have to delete the already received submission with the uploaded files, so that you can free up space.

If you decide to implement this las method, to delete the submissions, make sure that you create backup of those submissions. Deleted submissions cannot be recovered.

Please inform us if you need further assistance.

    Thanks

Thanks, i tried but it didn't work

I can still upload files of 340MB, but not files of 500MB, so it doesn't seem that it's related to the 100MB limit. Any other idea?

This is fundamental for me to decide whether I'm going to use the service long term or not.

    Thanks,

    Antoine

I am not able to see any file uploaded to your account: Antoinesail. Do let us know if this is the account in question. Free accounts are not be able to upload files to bigger than 100MB, and that would mean you would be using your accounts whole storage space.

Subscription Accounts will alllow you to upload up to 1GB files. For more information on subscription pricing, please review this link: Pricing Page.

Do let us know if you need further assistance. Thank you.

    1/

Thanks, I uploaded a 300MB file again - it works and as you can see, it exceeds the 100MB by far, so the account limit doesn't seem to be the origin of the problem.

When I pay I want to be sure that my 500MB files and 1GB files will be uploaded nicely. Thanks for looking into it.

    2/

For the 300MB upload though, the Dropbox integration only worked for the PDF report, not the actual file.

    Can you tell me why?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

It will help by clarifying this to you.

1./  Yes, you can upload more than 100 MB even on FREE subscription.
You can actually upload up to 1GB file size per upload session.

BUT -- if you are only on FREE account, it will exceed your allowed space limits of 100MB -- this limit will be flag 24hrs after it updates your account. This means that your FREE account will be disabled after 24hrs of the upload because it will now have an Overlimit status.

The paid plans have more storage space avaialable -- but the same restriction logic is applied. If it exceeds any of the limits, the account will be temporarily disabled due to Overlimit status

2./ If your upload form have integration to Dropbox, please take note that the Dropbox API have imposed limit of 300MB only. This can be the reason why you cannot upload more than 300MB when uploading to the form.

You can read for more details about it on this discussion thread also.

Hope this clarifies tha matter. Please contact us again anytime if you need further assistance.

    Thanks.

Thank you, it's clear by it raises a new question:

Is there another app that allows 1GB transmissions (such as BOX for instance)? I really want to link my form to a data storage/sharing service such as DropBox (not possible here) or Box (same 300MB limit?).

    Thank you,
