    How can I add linebreaks in the default value for a text area

    In my Facebook form, I have a text area that needs a message as the default value, similar to

    Dear Manufacturer,

    I would like etc etc ....

    But the default value won't accept Enter characters. I have tried inserting <br/>, which produces a break but strangely leaves the html tag in the text as well (with another break), AND adds 12 space characters at the start, so it looks like this..

               Dear Manufacturer,


               I would like etc etc ....

    I have read some articles on pre-populating using javascript, but that seems an extraordinary length to have to go to to simply add a line break.

    Hello clayray,

    You need to simply format the text content in a notepad on how you want to display and copy / paste it in the "Default Value" property of your "Textarea" field and it will retain the formatting of new line.
