When you submitt a form with signature features... and send a email to name1 and name2 to ask them to click on the
editlink to open the form and and sign... this happens.. see screencast... http://www.screencast.com/t/7dekb8uDi3.
It is not possible to sign the form. I am not sure if it is supposed to be like this or if this is a bug ... but It would be very useful if this could be possible , as I think a lot of users would apreciate if it was possible to use jotform to save signatures from severeal users in one form to produce contract document's or similar. I am sure that it could be a huge timesavers for lawyers.. auditors and other's that spend a lot of time collecting signatures. I have tried it in both Firefox and Internetexplorer, same problem in both.
To prove my point see the screencast and sample form http://form.jotformpro.com/form/40992264638969When you submit the form an email will be sendt to the email provided with the editlink to make it easy to test...

Hi,
If I understood it correctly, you were suggesting that the e-signature should also be editable when the form's submissions is in edit mode via the edit_link.
As far as I know, this was the intended feature. The e-signature should not be editable since it serves as a seal or finality of the information that was originaly submitted.
It will probably loose its purpose if it is just an editable field (it is like you are forging a signature)
What you can try instead is used a different form that contains the previous form data, and add a new e-sign field to the form. The new submisson should allow then the e-sign to work.
Hope this help. Please inform us if you need further assistance.
Thanks!

Hi
Thankyou for your answer, but I am not sure if I understand your logiic, it's like refusing someone to use a pen because they can use it to forge a signature... unless it is a legal risk for jotform if somone use it to forge a siganture I think you should reconsider it.. or at least leave it up to the formowner to decide if the signature widget should be editable or not...or at least the empty signature that have not been signed yet should be possible to sign... Another issue is that you do make it possible for the first user that fill out the form to forge the other's signature? ....
Your suggestion is (if I understand you right) to prefill the content of the form into another form to let the other party sign the document in the other form... but the problem is that the signature made in the first form cannot be transfered to the next form? unless there is a spesific method to do that?... and what I need is to produce a single document with two or more signatures...
I am suggesting this cause I see a lot of opportunities to use jotform to produce contract documents where several parties are invited to sign the same form.
Thank's

Hi,
I also understand what you were suggesting. As I have mentioned, the current setting of the e-signature field is, -- it is NOT editable when editing submissions.
As you have known already, the e-sign is only available when you use the form the 1st time (or form is not yet submitted). This is the reason I was suggesting multiple-form method -- to have new/fresh form each time where the e-sign field will be available.
I will submit a request feature to our higher team support base on your suggestion -- that is make the e-signature field editable during submisions edit mode.
I cannot guarantee you anything at this time since it will have to pass approval process before a developer can work on it.
In any case, we will notify you via this thread for any status update when available.
Thanks!

Hello egil500,
I've made a test on the e-signature and I was able to edit the signature in it.
Should you have other concerns, please do let us know.
Thanks.

Hi there, I tested it again and there are 3 issues that may could be regarded as bugs , or it should at least be changed.
1. In order for user two to sign in edit mode ...he have to click on the clear button first. This is very confusing when the sign field is empty.
2. What about the line I have marked in yellow in the attached screen capture, it confuse the user ?
3. The squared line around the sign box do not show in edit mode, that make the design not so good .
Really hope you will fix these issues soon : )

Hi,
I could not reproduced the issue you had reported when I made a test editing the submission with e-signature on the form.
1. In order for user two to sign in edit mode ...he have to click on the clear button first. This is very confusing when the sign field is empty.
I believe you have to use the clear button first because the original signature needs to be cleared to be able to affix the new signature.
2. What about the line I have marked in yellow in the attached screen capture, it confuse the user ?
Is that the line where the signature was suppose to be fill in after clearing the old signature? That is not a bug.
3. The squared line around the sign box do not show in edit mode, that make the design not so good
Not really sure which square line around the sign box you were referring to here, but I also could not see it originally.
you can also try my test jotform http://form.jotform.me/form/43555623972462?
after submitting the form, there is an edit link in the Thank you page that you can use to go into edit mode. Check if you still encounter the issues you mentioned on the test form.
Hope this help. Please inform us if issue persist.
Thanks.

Hi thank you for prompt answer.
1. If you have a look at my form, you will see that I have to people that have to sign, the second should not clear the signature the first user have signed.
2. That line show up when click on the second signature.
3. The squared line around the sign box look good when not in editmode... see image below .
or click on this link that I originally posted and try to recreate the behavour there...

Hi,
Thank you for providing us with more details. I was able to get a better understanding of the issue reported.
The original border box of the e-sign that was originally present when filling the form is no longer visible when in Edit mode.
I can see that the issue of the line you were referring to was because when you use the 'clear' button of the 2nd signature, it was actually the 1st signature that gets cleared.
after clearing 2nd signature only
I will submitted a bug ticket report regarding this issues.
Thank you for reporting also and letting us know of this.
We will inform you as soon as we have fixed on this bugs.
Thanks.
