Connection between Articulate Storyline and Jotform

Asked by Ole Hjorth  on April 11, 2014 at 01:01 PM

    Dear support.

If you use a Jotform and treat it as an web object inside Articulate Storyline, it works perfect. It means that you can place a variable from Storyline in the jotform web object and you wil se the content of the variable when you run the Storyline web object.

    My first question is:

If I placed a variable that would hold some ID for a Storyline user and other variables holding scores for this person in a jotform, would the form be saved at your server?

    The second would be:

If the same user - another day - had new scores, would I then be able (via a web object) to update the users scores?

    Third :

Is there a way I can save the user ID and score via Jotform, in order to collect more users ID/scores - f.ex in a table?
    and retrieve them again?

    Thanks

    Ole

    Thank you for contacting us.

As far as I understand, you are looking for some kind of a live connection between your Storyline project and the data stored in JotForm. However, this is not something that can be easy implemented using built in editor tools. The purpose of our forms is the data collection, so we do not provide some kind of the database access directly from the form.

Note, that the data is stored in our servers if it is submitted through the form or API.

We have an API that can be used for custom cases, so you might check it to see available options.

If you need any further assistance on this, please provide us with some example that we can check.
